Contested deletion
[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because its focus is on the history of the institution. I have placed a search template on the talk page which demonstrates the notability of the topic. The speedy deletion G11 is not applicable because, as it says, "Nor does this criterion apply where substantial encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material;" I removed the tag but the editor who placed it has edit-warred it back on. - Thanks for fixing the problem, which was that the article was an unsourced piece of promotion; the sourced stub is kind of appropriate; it is pretty clear that the topic fails WP:NOTABILITY and the current version still doesn't meet the threshold (I have tagged it as such) but this is much better than it was. Going forward please do not remove a speedy tag without providing justification; better yet don't remove a tag trying to fix a blatant problem unless you fix the problem. - The topic is notable and should not have been tagged G11. The main reason that I have knocked it down to a stub is the risk of it containing copyvio – a common problem with articles created by novice editors. But we're good now apart from the notability banner tag which requires evidence as, on the face of it, it appears to be absurd. Andrew D. (talk) 21:40, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- The two refs are passing mentions; notability is not established. As the tag says, "may not meet"... As I noted when i restored the speedy tag, it is not clear what brought you here. I am working through Wikicology's edits and this was something he worked on - he had first userified this and then moved it back into article space (why, i have no idea) Jytdog (talk) 22:23, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
