Top rated Steam game

[edit]

This game is the top rated game on Steam, surpassing Senren * Banka and A Short Hike. Gorilli09 (talk) 01:14, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gorilli09 This isn't a forum to discuss the game. Because user reviews are WP:USERG, this isn't suitable to include in the article, unless a reliable secondary sources provides coverage of it. -- ferret (talk) 01:36, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Twin-stick shooter

[edit]

@Ferret: "Shoot 'em up" isn't mentioned as a genre by name in any of the cited sources, Steam, or Itch.io either. But it's plain to see from even the most superficial of gameplay that it is a multidirectional shooter which uses one stick (or set of keys) to move along a flat plane and another for aiming weapons. RS in Twin-stick shooter indicate that a physical stick isn't required for it to qualify as a twin-stick shooter as long as the other requirements are met, otherwise games like Assault Android Cactus wouldn't be considered twin-stick shooters by RS. In addition, the game has controller support anyway, so it can be played with two sticks just fine. Arctic Circle System (talk) 21:22, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Arctic Circle System Like Vampire Survivors, much of HoloCure's weapons are not aimed at all, or simply fire in the direction the character last faced due to movement. Aiming with mouse (for weapons that are directional) is an optional feature and "last direction" is the default. The only source I found mentioning Holocure and twin-stick shooter was PCGamer, which was actually opining that Vampire Survivors, HoloCure and similar games are a form of "single-stick shooter" and whether these represents a new genre. -- ferret (talk) 21:51, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
