Date of Death

[edit]

England started the new year on March 25th, and would continue to do so until the middle of the 18th century. In actuality his date of death should be in 1546. Some people can't handle the fact the things in the past were not like they are now. Get over it! 2600:1700:A9B0:527F:5CAE:B2BD:EE19:C81E (talk) 07:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2600:1700:A9B0:527F:5CAE:B2BD:EE19:C81E,
  1. The figures in the article reflect the sources it cites.
  2. No, let's not "get over it". While I agree that many historical data shouldn't be silently converted to modern conventions, without adequate explanation the change would confuse much more than it would inform. It's a largely vacant distinction for the purposes of a general encyclopedia article.

Reign date on article is wrong

[edit]

Henry reigned from the death of his father in 1509. This is correctly stated in the article but in the side bar to the right one of the dates says 1505 not 1509. 27.252.206.119 (talk) 03:28, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GA concerns

[edit]

I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria, due to uncited text in the article including most of "Succession" and the entire "Style and arms" section. Also, at over 11,000 words, I think this article is WP:TOOBIG and some of the prose can be spun out or removed as too much detail. Is anyone willing to address these concerns, or should this go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 21:40, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Loved the Henry the eighth bio! It just needs a little tuneup!

[edit]

I so enjoyed this bio and learned quite a bit from about Henry Viii. It might be long and have various errors but it is easy to see all the work put into it. It just needs some fine tuning. I would also like to see "jousting" added to the tournament. This particular tournament changed Henry's life forever and how he handled so many situations/opposition/wives with a dramatic beheading. I love wikipedia and all the terrific information that has been collected for this encyclopedia. Special "hello" to wonderful HouseBlaster!! Creative Lizzie (talk) 18:45, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
