Does this need to be explained in detail? Hopefully the article will be deleted soon, so this is just temporary cover. Sumahoy01:39, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If this article is to be deleted then so shall the article under the same heading in reference.com as they are nearly identicle save that this article has cut out a few superfluous words. I would like to see more information on what exactly defines a consumer and a capitalist nation for all those who may not be aware of these concepts and their direct application to Americans.
FTA: "Motivated by the accumulation of personal wealth (not always in the terms of cash flow); the idea that the business' desire for profit is the main motivation of the economy, regardless of environmental issues."
Obviously many people taking part in capitalist economic activities (so it can be assumed part of the culture of capitalism) are supporters of human rights and environmental protection.BigJim707 (talk) 06:54, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There are no sources/references in this article. It's in need of expansion and thorough research. I feel the concept is sound, however. LegalTech (talk) 20:54, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
While much of what the article says is at least partly true, the form of the article is a violation of WP:Not a dictionary since it is about the expression. The material is already covered in Capitalism and other articles. If the Prod is removed I will nominate it for deletion. BigJim707 (talk) 06:51, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored this page as a separate article from the main capitalism article because the concept is sound and is referenced in the social sciences (particularly in anthropology and sociology). I have completely rewritten it with citations (because the previous article was poorly-written and un-sourced).-Battlecry01:48, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
