Hi! I'm opening a Good Article Nomination review. Hoping to complete the review over the next couple of days. I'll be using the template below. Thanks! Ganesha811 (talk) 14:41, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Zin Win Hlaing, hi! Overall, the article is in pretty good shape, and I think we can definitely bring it to Good Article status together. Other than a few prose things, the main obstacle is 3a - breadth. Have a look at my comments there and let me know what you think. If the information is available and you'll have time to add content over the next few days, that's great. If it'll take a little longer, let me know and I can put the review on a hold for a week or two to give you time to improve the article, and then I'll return to re-review. - Thank you. But I suppose I'll need to take a bit longer time; Burma's COVID situation is getting worse day by day, and I'm stressed these days. Zin Win Hlaing (talk) 14:02, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Zin Win Hlaing, I understand. I'll put the nomination on hold for two weeks to start, and check in again then. Stay safe and I'll see you in 14 days! Ganesha811 (talk) 15:54, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ganesha811, I think I have fixed some issues. Pls check. Thanks. Zin Win Hlaing (talk) 04:12, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ganesha811, I've all done. Zin Win Hlaing (talk) 07:18, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
- Zin Win Hlaing thank you - this now passes GA status. Congrats to you and to anyone else who worked on it! Ganesha811 (talk) 13:49, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

3. Broad in its coverage: | ||
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. |
This article, while fascinating and well-written, is missing a little bit of context, in two ways. First of all, it would be good to have a little bit of background (maybe just a few sentences) on why Pagan Min abicated, the political situation in the Konbaung Kingdom at the time, etc. Secondly, to the non-Burmese reader, like me, I don't know if any of these ceremonies and procedures were different from past coronations, or if they were all handed down from time immemorial. Was anything changed from past coronations? How did people react? Was the event treated as a waste of money, or an uplifting, unifying moment for the dynasty - or something else? Did any foreign diplomats attend? What was the reaction abroad? Etc. If details like this are just not available, I understand, but I think it would add a lot to the article to incorporate some material along these lines.
