The late Reverend Charles Oswald Lelean more than meets the notability standards of Wikipedia. His influence on Fiji and Fiji's development as a nation is absolutely without question. The fact that whoever has placed this 'speedy deletion' pronouncement on this article does not know the name of Rev C.O Lelean, does not make the name of Rev Lelean any less notable. For the people of Fiji, he is a big deal. And we Fijians, are still members of the human race, last time I checked. We are punching above our weight in world affairs. Maybe, he or she should just accept that he or she does not know everything there is to know in the world. The concern for maintaining an exacting standards is appreciated, however, I would question the logic of deleting every article of persons or issues that are not well known. Maybe that is the beauty and competitive edge of Wikipedia. That Wikipedia covers every little detail of the world that no other encyclopedia in the world could ever match. Of course, there is a downside to such an endeavour but surely there is better way of doing it than just deleting articles just because one person doesn't know much about a subject that is covered in the article.
--Sditoka (talk) 11:54, 9 October 2010 (UTC)The late Reverend Charles Oswald Lelean is a very prominent figure in modern Fiji. As far as Fiji is concerned, he has influenced generations of Fijians and that influence will continue to strengthen and grow. The school named after him produced the first South Pacific Islander to graduate with a PhD. From the same school came the first Fijian woman graduate.

[edit]Under Lelean's leadership, the Methodist Theological College developed to produce new leaders who have gone on to influence Fijian statehood.
Therefore as far as notability is concerned, C.O Lelean is very prominent in Fiji's history.
