Link removal by user:Mindmatrix on 20:45, November 1, 2006 per WP:EL
[edit]The three links removed from the article:
are complimentary sites that various functions/clubs in the school maintain. I have read the WP:EL article and the only possible violation that the links could violate is the "it isn't useful to provide a link to a page whose contents change often" (which in all the links, the information is archived, therefore, the information is still present on the site). In addition, the Schools project is slightly different from regular wikipedia content, in that the information contained in the school article should provide an in depth view of the school (which could be explored through links) and not just a surface view.
Would someone be able to clarify on the inclusion of these above links? --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 04:17, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'll review the links individually:
- RateMyTeachers - this was removed because it amounts to a popularity contest for teachers, and it isn't a statistically valid analysis of their performance or abilities (it probably has some kernel of truth to the rankings, but there's just too much bias inherent in their system)
- Bunch of Believers - this is essentially a blog (run by you, it appears), which most certainly fails WP:EL (point 7; point 3 applies too, but you're following the steps suggested to rectify that); there's nothing wrong with the site, but it doesn't belong here
- Link Crew - this is a blog with a calendar of events; again, this fails WP:EL (point 7)
- What you can do is add an entry for Bear Creek Secondary School on the Open Directory Project, add these links there, and then link to the dmoz.org page for the school in this article. This would also allow the article to conform to WP:NOT (specifically, Wikipedia is not a link repository or web directory). I hope this helps. Mindmatrix 14:27, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks a lot! It makes sense now :) --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 03:18, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Bear Creek in the News
[edit]Because of certain concerns raised to me by user:BCSCP, I moved the news stories to a separate page. If anyone has a concern with that, please reply to this on my talk page, and I'll explain further there. Thanks! :) --lovelaughterlife♥talk? 03:26, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bearcreeklogo.gif
[edit]Image:Bearcreeklogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
