[edit]Perhaps there is too much information in the Junior School section about the Senior School that could be included in a separate section.
I do not think it is appropriate to feature a picture of Matthew Perry. It would suggest that we, as Ashbuians who create the page, are only concerned with the celebrity status of our alumni and disregard the fine balance of academic, athletic, artistic, and social development that occurs at the College. Including his photo is cliché and uninspired.
I.B. Sucks
[edit]Is there really such a person? He's mentioned as a school captain, but it's impossible to do a Google search as the results are all for the IB program sucking. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 (talk) 02:15, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Of course, you are correct. The vandal edit was here. I've reverted it. Thanks. DoubleBlue (Talk) 02:41, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]There is not much information about Ashbury College floating around on the web, and thus it is difficult to make citations for information. Most of the information comes from students who live/go to school there. I think that it is unfair to forever have a "no citations" template floating at the beginning of the article. Isn't there some provision for no information being available except for primary people sources? --Michaelkourlas (talk) 21:57, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Ashbury College → Ashbury College (Ottawa) — - Under the guidelines of WikiProject Ottawa, one of the naming conventions for school articles (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Ottawa#Naming_conventions) is that schools must be named "%School Name% (Ottawa)" and not just "%School Name%". Although this does not apply to colleges and universities, Ashbury College is not a college in its usual sense. It is a private elementary and high school. Thus, I would like to move the page to conform to these naming conventions. --Michaelkourlas (talk) 18:42, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose. I can find no consensus for this WikiProject's naming conventions even amongst the project let alone in the wider community. Lacking any consensus it is my opinion that the general wikipedia convention of only disambiguating when neccessary applies and so this article should stay where it is. Erroneous impression.
[edit]As a parent of a potential student for this school I find this article less than helpful. There are no achievements mentioned for the girls, which would lead one to question whether girls at the school get sufficient support in their athletic or academic endeavours. There are no notable female alumni, which is very worrying. Also there is no mention of the arts... The author's inclination to mention just the academic and (boy's)athletic achievements could lead one to believe that Ashbury provides a sadly incomplete education. I was hoping that an article such as this would give a more rounded picture of the education achieved at this prestigious school.. The impression it gives is one of a school which reverts to the bog standard accolades for high academic scores and the traditional idea of physical endeavour. Namely those of the boys. Surely there is more to this school than pageantry and high Sat scores? Are there no female alumni who would care to comment on a girl's experience at Ashbury College? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobsgals (talk • contribs) 20:56, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
To be honest, you're probably salty that your son or daughter didn't get accepted to such a fine school like Ashbury College. ThreeGoats (talk) 21:19, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- I know both of these accounts probably don't exist anymore, but wow. Wow. Just wow. Rich people, damn... AdoTang (talk) 13:50, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
WikiProject Schools Assessment
[edit]I have rated this article C/Mid, It is a long article, but contains lots of irrelevant information (most notably the Technology section) and is also poorly referenced. Due to the age of the school, and the list of notable alumni, I have rated this article of Mid importance on the scale. TheAuthor22 (talk) 08:18, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
