Clearly just someone's petty attack at a facebook group, not verified.

"'Green Gate' refers to an infamous rift that occurred in the Australian anarchist movement mid-2016 when it was revealed that the administration of Australia's most influential Facebook group, 'Anarchists In Australia' was controlled by members of the Australian Greens Party and that the group was being used as part of a covert social media campaign by The Australian Greens Party to influence the Federal Election. An investigation by a group of concerned anarchists who had been banned from the group for expressing anti-Australian Greens Party sentiment revealed that a group of Greens Party members led by aspiring politician Tom Raue infiltrated the Anarchists In Australia group shortly after the Federal Election date was announced with the connivance of Anarchists In Australia admins Jacob Vardy, Jasmina Brankovich and Benjamin Eorlingas, all of whom are former Australian Greens Party members and are still sympathetic to the cause. Tom Raue is a student activist from Sydney and an aspiring politician who has managed to build quite a large personality cult around himself both online and in real life and now wields a great deal of power and influence within the cut throat student politics scene in Sydney and online activism circles within Australia. The investigation revealed that Tom Raue used several underhanded tactics to silence members of Anarchists In Australia who were critical of the Australian Greens Party including orchestrating mass reporting of Facebook profiles, making unsubstantiated accusations against group members and using his personal friendship with group admin Jacob Vardy (also known as 'The Wizard') to intimidate group members who refused to tow the Greens Party line. Raue claims to be an anarchist but the investigation revealed that this is most likely a temporary ruse to assist him in his rise through the student politics scene and an eventual run for the New South Wales parliament as an Australian Greens Party candidate. It was also revealed that not only is Raue a member of the Australian Greens Party, he is also employed by them. He even boasted via a post in the Anarchists In Australia group that he "wouldn't have a job if it weren't for The Greens" as well as alluding to the fact that his coordinator role in the 'Sniff Off' campaign (a campaign against the discriminatory use of police drug sniffer dogs in Sydney) was only possible due to his being a paid Australian Greens Party operative. The repercussions of 'Green Gate' are still being felt at the time of this writing and at this stage it is uncertain what effect it will have on the wider Australian anarchist community." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.104.202.53 (talk) 05:23, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-removed it. Its non notable nonsense, and theres no possible arangements of facts that would make a sqabble between a few facebook users notable. 59.167.111.154 (talk) 12:55, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Someone Keeps re-adding, can the page be locked? 58.104.202.53 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.104.201.171 (talk) 07:20, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This definitely isn't notable, and in any event it's unsourced. Removing. Orthogonal1 (talk) 13:22, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed the section once again, as it's clearly non-notable original research. It seems like this edit war has been ongoing for over five years now, which is utterly ridiculous. Semi-protection might be necessary if this continues. --Grnrchst (talk) 08:00, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rebel Worker

[edit]

What happened to the Rebel Worker Wikipedia page? It seems to have been taken down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pejosi (talkcontribs) 01:02, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It didn't show significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources (?) but you can cover it in context here if you have reliable, secondary sources to justify the content. We should be able to do better than takver.com: newspapers, magazines, publications with editorial processes and reputations for accuracy, etc. (not watching, please {{ping}}) czar 02:16, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, CZAR, thanks for the info that you provided on my Talk page. I'm only an occasional Wikipediac so I'm not familiar with all of the ins-and-outs of the system. On the matter of the Rebel Worker page, surely a better way of dealing with it, rather than removing it completely, would've been to make a call for verification from additional sources, as many pages do? A problem with a sub-culture such as Australian anarchism is that there is mostly a paucity of information from "multiple reliable, independent sources" and "secondary sources." Most information comes from single partisan sources or, indeed, the recollections of participants in events. If the only information that was permissible was from multiple reliable sources, etc., then there would be very little said about the subject at all. The removal of the Rebel Worker page renders that long-standing paper, in a sense, non-existent rather than requiring of it further verification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pejosi (talkcontribs) 08:26, 7 December 2018 (UTC) Well at the very least it needs to be included on the Australian Anarchism page. It is by far the most long standing press within Australian Anarchism. Jeremy (talk) 23:12, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
