- Article is new enough, long enough and adequately sourced, including the hook. QPQ done. Automated and spot checks find no copyvios or plagiarism. Only issue is that the hook is not that interesting. Maybe
- ALT1: That the 1931 Barcelona rent strike involved 100,000 families and led to 18 deaths? Valenciano (talk) 19:48, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Sure. Might I also suggest ALT2: ... that the 1931 Barcelona rent strike resulted in 18 deaths, dozens of injuries and arrests, and an agreement on the reduction of rents?--Launchballer 20:00, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Valenciano: Could you please assess ALT2?--Launchballer 02:22, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I missed your reply. ALT2 is fine, the 18 deaths sources to the El Pais article, which is behind a paywall so I took that in good faith (and verified it in other sources anyway.) Valenciano (talk) 10:32, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Valenciano: Are all of your concerns resolved, and is this approved? If not, what else needs to be done? Z1720 (talk) 15:14, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

Anarchism?
[edit]It was organised by the CNT, seems like a defining connection to me[1]
@Grnrchst, the article doesn't mention the CNT's affiliation with anarchism even once as a defining aspect of the rent strike. Are all CNT activities inherently anarchist activities? czar 11:46, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Czar: From the cited RTVE source (emphasis mine):
With its report on rents, the newly created Economic Defence Committee of the CNT went to the Republican authorities who had just taken office, hoping for a friendlier stance towards their demands than that of previous monarchist governors.
However, housing policies hardly changed. "What the politicians of the day told them was not to hurry, but of course the workers had to eat every day." With no response from the authorities or the landlords, grouped together in the Barcelona Chamber of Urban Property, these anarchist militants called for a strike.- In chapter 7 of the second section of Durruti in the Spanish Revolution, Abel Paz also discusses the role of the Iberian Anarchist Federation in the strike. --Grnrchst (talk) 20:14, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Do other sources agree with that? Since Abel Paz was both a member of the CNT and a historian, I haven't ascertained the extent of his conflict of interest here. Also if this is a defining aspect of the strike, shouldn't it be mentioned in the article? czar 23:29, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Czar: Nick Rider talks extensively about anarchist involvement in the rent strike in "The new city and the anarchist movement in the 1930s" and "The practice of direct action". --Grnrchst (talk) 10:30, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Honestly I think basing WikiProject coverage on a ctrl-f search for the word "anarchism" is a little silly, but by all means feel free to add an explicit mention if you think it's important. --Grnrchst (talk) 10:35, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- It's standard practice to mention a topic in the article if it's going to be placed in that category. czar 13:13, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
