Female name reuse

I wonder if this name is incorrect. If I recall correctly, article titles of the form "X of Y" are reserved for ruling monarchs, none of which these women were? Although I vaguely recall that the policy is to drop the "Princess" for the consorts of ruling monarchs, but list them under their pre-marital name, in which case the second Princess Alexandra of Greece does get this name. I have checked Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles)#Other royals, #4, and this page is indeed now at the right name (since she has passed on). So I have moved the discussion about the Alexandras to Talk:Princess Alexandra of Greece. Noel (talk) 02:49, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

Alexandra, Queen regnant of Greece?

The current line of succession to the Greek throne includes females, so I guess that Greece allowed females to inherit the throne during Alexandra's lifetime. Would she became Queen regnant of Greece at the moment of her birth had she not been declared illegtimate? Surtsicna (talk) 16:18, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Hard to say. The succession of her father Alexander I of Greece was also questionable. Her paternal grandfather Constantine I of Greece had been effectively forced into abdication and exile by an Allied invasion. He was still considered the legitimate King by monarchists. Even if succession of her father was questionable, she would have succeded her uncle, George I (the same way Queen Victoria succeded her uncle, William IV). But I guess that Greeks did not want a woman on throne... Surtsicna (talk) 09:25, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Move

In view of recent moves of e.g. Marie of Romania I suggest that this person should now be moved to "Alexandra of Yugoslavia". See WP:NCROY, there is no presumption in favour of queens reverting to their maiden name. PatGallacher (talk) 17:16, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

What is the most common name? Surtsicna (talk) 17:25, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
The one serious obituary online calls her "Queen Alexandra of Yugoslavia". Google searches are not much use, since "Alexandra of Greece" and "Alexandra of Greece and Denmark" pick up other people with the same name. PatGallacher (talk) 10:45, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

But why "The Queen of Yugoslavia" ?

Has she been crowned? Or maybe has she been on the throne of Yugoslavia for at least 1 minute? She's been the spouse of the last king, but no more the queen, too late.

Excuse me? Surtsicna (talk) 18:28, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Goverment in exile plus yugoslavia dont have spouse of kings being crown so she was the the queen of yugoslavia (2601:40:C001:8713:4444:B18C:4C13:FD6E (talk) 17:11, 15 August 2015 (UTC))
