If Switzerland boycotted the 1956 Olympics 1956 Summer Olympics, how is it possible that they appear tied for 35th on the medals table, having won a bronze 1956 Summer Olympics medal count?

Switzerland's medal came in Equestrian events, which were held 5 months earlier than the rest of the Olympic games (June 1956) in Stockholm, Sweden, due to Australian quarantine laws. Andrwsc 23:24, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The DYKCheck tool doesn't think this has been expanded 5x. ProseSize says the readable prose size has gone from 943 B to 3536 B, which isn't quite a fivefold expansion. The table presumably makes this harder to assess though, so I will leave the final eligibility judgement to someone more experienced with DYKs. Toadspike [Talk] 11:21, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The "Prose size (including all HTML code)" has gone from 7299 B to 15 kB, and the Wiki text has gone from 4846 B to 24 kB – I assume you mean one of those two? I'm still going to leave this on second opinion for now, since I'm pretty sure WP:DYKPROSE and WP:DYKNEW ("expanded at least fivefold in terms of its prose portion") farther up the page say to only count the prose. Sorry, Arconning. The file size has been expanded 5x, from 4846 to 24,897 bytes, but unfortunately that's not what's used. The expansion must be of the rendered prose. I pasted the text into a character counter, and it looks like it went from about 939 to 3522, which pretty much agrees with the ProseSize results listed above. (DYKCheck is very wrong, saying it went from 5801 to 8389 prose characters. Shubinator, you may want to take a look.) You reached an expansion of about 3.75 times. If you think you can further expand the article, by almost 1200 prose characters, please reply to that effect. Otherwise, this will have to be failed for now, but you could try to get the article to WP:Good article status, and renominate within a week of that designation.
