Song Lyrics

[edit]

I leave here the lyrics, as well as te translation, to the song mentioned in the article, in case they're needed sometime:

Homage to “Los Solidarios”

The story of three friends,
Of sweet freedom.
They became anarchists,
But not by chance.
Buenaventura Durruti,
Ascaso y García Oliver,
Called “Los Solidarios”
Who despise Power.
Wanted and persecuted
In the city and in the country,
They ended up in prison
But not by chance.
Buenaventura Durruti,
Ascaso y García Oliver
Three Leaves of Black Clover
Against the wind of Power.
As always,
They outwitted Authority.
They crossed the frontier,
But not by chance.
Buenaventura Durruti,
Ascaso y García Oliver,
People’s black shadow,
Opposite Power’s bright light.
Some time afterwards,
They returned home,
Bourgeoise trembled,
But not by chance.
Buenaventura Durruti,
Ascaso y García Oliver,
Three black lead bullets,
Directed towards the Power.

Image review

  • File:Salvador Segui (CNT).JPG: US PD tag is needed at Commons.
  • File:MartAnDic1925.jpg: US PD tag is needed.
  • File:Soldevila y Romero.jpg: could you add further details of the source (year of publication, editor, publisher, isbn, page)?
  • Could you add a map about Spain/Catalonia? Borsoka (talk) 08:54, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Borsoka: I've replaced the photographs of Seguí, Anido and Soldevila with ones that have clearer authorship and publication information, which should unambiguously show them in the public domain. I've also added a map of Catalonia within Spain, with the borders of the time. --Grnrchst (talk) 12:18, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Source review

@Borsoka: I deleted the publication places and added oclc numbers. I think you missed the ISBN in the Paz citation, it's always been there. --Grnrchst (talk) 12:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

  • I would mention that Catalonia is in Spain in the first sentence of the first section.
  • The government responded... Central or regional government?
  • Delink political repression.
  • Consider linking Labor movement in Spain to "organised working class"
  • Consider mentioning that Barcelona is the region's largest city.
  • Introduce Marseilles as a French port city/city.
  • ...half of all workers... Could you add a number?
  • Introduce Donostia as a city in northwestern Spain/the Atlantic coast of Spain/...
  • A translation or explanation for the name Los Justicieros?
  • Introduce the pistoleros with two or three words.
  • ... applied to ley de fugas to imprisoned workers Explain it with two or three words.
  • ...but Buenacasa dissuaded them. Why?
  • ...to assassinate King Alfonso XIII... I would make it clear that he was the Spanish king, because we have not been informed that Spain was a monarchy.
  • I would mention Spanish Morocco at the end of the first sentence in section "Founding".
  • Introduce Antonio Maura.
  • Mention that the Victoria Theatre is in Barcelona.
  • Introduce Liberto Callejas and Gregorio Jover (workers/...).
  • Explain the term "yellow syndicalism" with two or three words.
  • I would link the Catalan independence movement to the "independence of Catalonia".
  • ...was edited by Ascaso Which of the two?
  • Introduce Tomás Herreros, Juan Manuel Molina and Joan Montseny, and other peoples first mentioned if possible.
  • Delink anti-militarism. Borsoka (talk) 09:53, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Borsoka: I think I've addressed all of these. Ping me if/when you have further notes. --Grnrchst (talk) 12:35, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Introduce Anido and Arlegui.
  • Could the use of the term "bourgeoisie" be avoided in the article? As I grew up in a country in the Soviet Block, I cannot regard it as a neutral term. Of course, if a sentence presents a leftist PoV, the term's use is quite natural: "Los Solidarios warned the conference that, despite the re-established peace, the bourgeoisie would continue their attacks against the working classes."
  • Los Solidarios discovered that the pistolero leader Ramón Laguía was hiding out in Manresa. The group suspected him of having murdered Seguí. Could the two sentences be consolidated?
  • Introduce A Coruna as a city in northwestern Spain/Galicia.
  • ...Joan Rusiñol... Is "ñ" a letter in the Catalan alphabet?
  • At his trial, Ramón Mendizábal, the Basque trader Durruti had been accused of robbing, said he had not reported Durruti and declared his innocence to the judge. I do not understand.
  • ...until the end of the period of pistolerismo When?
  • ..., who left for Valladolid the following week. Delete.
  • ..., which they felt the need to confront in order to stop it Delete.
  • They held Archbishop Juan Soldevila, the head of the local pistoleros... Was he indeed the head of the pistoleros?
  • ...the assassination's path of escape... Is this grammatical? Not assassins'?
  • A link to Xixón? Introduce it as a town (?) in Astúrias.
  • Introduce Inocencio Pina, Luis Muñoz and Antonio Mur.
  • Introduce Garate, Anitua y Compañía as a firm/company/....
  • Introduce Duro Felguera as a firm/company/....
  • A link to Civil Guard?
  • I would radically shorten the fourth paragraph of section "The Coup of 1923": in an encyclopedic article, we do not need a detailed information of a robery and its aftermath.
  • Avoid the use of informal terms like heist and ammo.
  • ... the Picasso files... About what?
  • ...to take control of the country... Rephrase.
  • Introduce and link PSOE. Borsoka (talk) 04:00, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
