Samuel Garang Dut Thiangdit is a South Sudanese activist. In 2021, he was arrested, and later convicted in Aweil civil courts for defaming Tong Akeen Ngor.[1] He was jailed for 8 months[2] and ordered to pay SSP 2,000,000.[3]

After his release, Dut was detained by the military intelligence for 10 months for supporting Paul Malong Awan,[4][5] rebel leader and former and governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal.[6][7] He was released on 5 August 2023.[4]

In 2024, Simon Uber Mawut appointed Dut as Deputy Commissioner for State Revenue Authority for administration and finance in Northern Bhar el Ghazal.[8]
