Doubt on Egyptian left-wingers at the 1934 World Cup

Hi Nehme1499, I'd like to take advantage again of your kindness and expertise to solve a dilemma that I stumbled upon. Wikipedia reports in the squad page and in the related article Mohammed Hassan (footballer, born 1905) as being part of the Egyptian squad taking part at the 1934 World Cup. However, as the note number two of Mohammed Hassan's article hints at, a variety of sources cite Mohammed Hassan Helmy (which we list as having been part only of the 1936 Olympic squad) as playing the game against Hungary. Some of these sources are Soccerway, 11v11 and FIFA. So, the question is: who was in the squad? Mohammed Hassan Moussa born 5 February 1905 or Mohammed Hassan Helmy born 13 February 1912? Bear in mind that no source mentions both of them, it's either one or the other. Can it be that FIFA and the other outlets have made confusion because of the similarities of the two names? I am saying this because this website lists the full name as Mohammed Hassan Helmy Moussa. I hope to have been clear. Hi Tanonero, thanks for the kind words. Examining the Egyptian website we previously used as a source for the Egypt national football team in the 1934 FIFA World Cup, I have found the player "Mohammed Hassan" playing in attack as well as a "Helmy Moustafa" (most likely "Moustafa Helmi Youssef" in the wikipedia article) playing in midfield. I have found no "Mohammed Hassan Helmy" in the website, and the only player who has "Mohammad Hassan" in his name is "Mohammad Hassan" himself; as of what I can see in the website, Mohammed Hassan WAS part of the 1934 squad while Mohammed Hassan Helmy was NOT. I hope this cleared up your doubts regarding the Egyptian side in the 1934 World Cup.Nehme1499 (talk) 11:40, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

Damascus Arabic page's discussion

Hello Mr Nehme, Thank you a lot for contributing positively to DA page :) I noticed that you removed 'Syrian' and 'Levantine' as alternative names for 'Damascus Arabic'. I agree with removing 'Levantine' as it is not the name for the dialect; however, yes, I know that the 'Syrian [Arabic]' and 'Damascus Arabic' are not the same thing (as Syrian Arabic is a broader term that covers many dialects in Syria) but this is a very common name for this dialect in the Middle East and among western researchers and as such, I had added it with the addition that it is merely a loose usage. Hi @Mark Enlightenment: regarding the previous questions you have posted on the talk page:
  • I have corrected the "double Damascus Arabic" problem.
  • The picture can't be uploaded, the only way for you to upload it is if you recreate it from scratch or find one that doens't have copyright restrictions (Google search --> tools --> usage rights --> labeled for reuse with modification).
  • I renamed it as اللهجة الدمشقية‎ (literally "Damascene dialect") because of the fact that اللهجة الشامية was already used for Levantine Arabic.
As for removing "Syrian", I would have no problem in adding it as you are right in saying that it is a bit of a "gray" area". I think we should take the discussion back to the talk page and alert @IamNotU:.

Lebanon squad-2019 AFC Asian Cup squads

Oumari's contract expires 5 days before the Asian Cup, the season in J League has also ended. Therefore I think that his club is essentially Al-Nasr.--Anbans 585 (talk) 15:46, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

AFC Asian Cup squads

Do you have some kind of proper source which shows about how many goals he scored, for example the AFC document showed that Mat Leckie scored 8 goals, but I found 9 of his goals at youtube, which proves that the AFC document was wrong "here".--Anbans 585 (talk) 18:55, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi, for the Lebanese players I use NFT.com. I add up both “fifa matches” and “non-fifa matches” together as it’s sometimes unclear which matches it deems to be unofficial. Nehme1499 (talk)
You can find the official FIFA labelled matches on the FIFA website. Also it would be very helpful if you can find some kind of video reference or a news reference (a good reference) which may state it more clearly. Also I will give you an example of how some matches aren't considered, Mohammed Al-Breik is shown to score 1 goal against Jamaica in a friendly last year, which makes his no. of goals scored equals to 1 but the match was widely considered a training match and not an official match, thus "here" the AFC document is correct.--Anbans 585 (talk) 20:44, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
@Anbans 585: Hi, the problem isn't exactly knowing which matches are unofficial but knowing in which of the unofficial matches a player has or hasn't played. For example Maatouk is widely regarded as having scored 19 goals for the national team by different media (the importance of the 19 goals is that he is 1 off from the record of the Lebanese national team), but NFT.com considers 1 of his goals as unofficial. The problem is I don't know which of these matches is "unofficial" for NFT (the AFC document considers Maatouk as having 19 goals btw). As for my example of a player having a goal less on the AFC document than on NFT, both have the same appearances; this means that for the AFC, in a certain match, this player HASN'T scored when in fact he has (the AFC says that he has scored 3 in 20 when in fact he has scored 4 in 20). I wouldn't use the document for the statistics, only for the shirt numbers. Nehme1499 (talk) 23:52, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

@Anbans 585: As for the Lebanese team, these are the discrepancies I have found:
  • Nour Mansour's DoB (listed as born in '89 but actually born in '91, month and days are also different)
  • Maatouk's DoB (month and day are inverted)
  • Rabih Ataya (the document says that he has scored 3 goals in 20 apps while in actuality he has scored 4 goals in 20 apps)
  • Robert Alexander Melki and George Felix Melki's positions are swapped
I'm sure there are other inconsistencies, but these are the ones I have noticed (as well as other minor differences in appearences and goals). Nehme1499 (talk) 00:30, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

Okay first up can you give me a source which makes you so sure about the birthdates of Mansour and Maatouk, please don’t give NFT as a reference, there is also a chance that they may be wrong. @Anbans 585: I have found other 2 incorrect DoBs: Mohamed Zein Tahan, who's birthday is reported to be the 20 of April on the document and 2 of April on other websites (as well as his Instagram post posted on the next day) and Walid Ismail (AFC says 10 November, other websites say 11).
I would say that the AFC is right on this one.
Also, for Nour Mansour, Eurosport and NFT say that he's born in '91, while Soccerway and Footballdatabase say '89 so I'm not sure on this one.
I will try to directly contact the players or reliable Lebanese sources on these inconsistencies.
P.S. I relised that I made a mistake on Maatouk as I probably got the information from an American website (swapping day and month): this isn't NFT's fault. Nehme1499 (talk) 09:02, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
The birthdates written in the document are the birthdates submitted by the player themselves during the registration process. See the AFC registration process for reference. That’s why if we are not sure about a particular info we should use the AFC document as the stats mentioned in it are submitted by the respective national football association. Also you should use globalsportsarchive.com as it contains database of birthdates of many players and is computer maintained, i.e. there is a very less chance of human error there. NFT soccerway etc are human maintained that is why there their may be a chance of human error.Anbans 585 (talk) 09:10, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
@Anbans 585: Hi, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Yes I have noticed that Nour Mansour's DoB was incorrect after consulting with a Lebanese football expert. I have therefore changed all the DoBs (and heights) of the Lebanese players according to the AFC document. I am still unsure about caps and goals: Rabih Ataya's goals count is of 3 for the AFC and 4 everywhere else (I have checked the goals and they are in official matches): also, the caps are the same (20) so it's not a matter of what the AFC counts as an official match or not. The only explanation I can give is if a goal was an "own goal" for the AFC and a goal for Ataya for other sources, but I don't remember of such a goal. Well yeah that is the goal sort of, but this is mainly done from looking at the Spanish version of the same page and putting my own words into it. Italy women's

Hi Nehme, hope you've been doing well. I was going to try and translate the history section at the Italian page for Italy women's national football team into English as we do not even have a history section here. But perhaps you may be better suited to do it if you have time? Let me know. After I did the head to head records, I was planning to make a table of the top 10 appearances and scorers, but the FIGC site is a mess compared to what I see for the players on the Italian wiki for various reasons they cite. There is one problem: the draft won't be accepted as he won't be deemed "notable" for Wikipedia (he either has to play for a professional league, which the Lebanese Football League isn't, or play even one minute for the national team, which he is yet to do). FIFA international result pages

Hello, I recall you asking once at WT:FOOTY about FIFA's list of international matches. I too was disappointed to see it gone, though I just have had a realisation. FIFA have a 'static' version of their website prior to more recent redesigns (static.fifa.com). So if you use that version of the website, the international results are still there, for example here. @S.A. Julio: This is really helpful, thanks! I have been using a waybackmachine-stored version of the website, though often it displays weirdly and not in the intended layout. Danny El-Hage nationality

@Amsport12345: Hi, this issue has already been discussed at WP:FOOTY in this discussion. The preferred form for players with dual nationality is to omit it from the first sentence, and then explain it further down. In Danny's case it would be best to just write "...is a professional football who plays as a goalkeeper for..." and then explain in another sentence that he has both nationalities has his father is Lebanese and his mother is Polish. Hi, thanks for the reply. The cases mentioned in the above discussion are different to this case. In the case of Danny El-Hage, he is as equally Polish as he is Lebanese without any controversies over origin or citizenship. Thus the description Polish-Lebanese is totally correct, making the lead brief and concise. The explanation about his parents should be placed further down in article if necessary. The fact that he represented Lebanon in youth categories is also mentioned further down in the article it can be omitted from the lead. @Amsport12345: There are other players who were born with both nationalities, see Bassel Jradi and Soony Saad for example. Also see Diego Costa and Wilfried Zaha, who represented both national teams.The lede serves as a summary of the article below, information shouldn't be omitted from it just because it is present below. @Amsport12345: If you can provide a reliable source stating that the Armenian league is professional, you can open a discussion at WP:FOOTY and see if a consensus is reached. Per WP:DRAFTS you are expected to reverse unilateral moves from the main- to the draft-space if someone objects, so I have moved the page back. In the same vein, draftifying should not really be used as an alternative to deletion where the are no concerns with the content of a page. Hello Sir Sputnik, thank you for reversing the unilateral draftifying of the Article. The article has now been listed for deletion by Nehme1499. I would like to point out that this action was based on bias. As we can see Nehme1499 articles cover Lebanese players in 90%. He tried making changes to the article to make the Player Danny El-Hage look as if he is solely lebanese ignoring his Polish origins. When that failed he proceeded to draftifying the article and when that was reversed also he proceeded to listing the article for deletion. No for bias. Re: LebanonFG template

Hello, and thanks for asking. I'm afraid that these days I don't understand much of the code either. In recent times such templates have been enhanced to work with Wikidata and to include a lot more error-checking than 10 years ago or whenever {{Soccerway}} and the like were first created. You'd do better asking for help from someone who works with templates, such as Frietjes, or to post on WT:FOOTY where someone with technical competence might see it.

Don't know if you intend your template to be just for the External links section or to be usable as a citation as well. If the latter, you might want to base it on something like {{NFT player}}, which outputs a cite-web formatted citation if the accessdate parameter is supplied, where the Soccerway one has just been fudged to add an accessdate on the end of external-link type formatting.

My bad for removing that bolding without checking the other user-lang templates, but I was amused at the edit to ما بيفهم haha.

By the way, I saw you asked for a "Help:IPA/Lebanese Arabic" page. Would it need to refer to external sources? I see that e.g. the Egyptian one doesn't have any references, but I'm not sure if that's the norm. Regarding "byefhamsh", yeah I know it's lebanese too ahahahah. The X-sh for negatives is only used in certain areas of Lebanon though, I felt that "ma + X" is a bit less "day3a" if you know what I mean ahahaha.
I think that it should be possible to find some external sources for Lebanese pronunciations (probably some are available at Lebanese Arabic). I personally don't care if sources are included, but still the page could be potentially nominated for deletion.

Yeah, that's completely fair. Regarding sources -- I'll see what I can pull up. If there's nothing completely usable, though, I might just follow Egyptian's lead and go ahead with it (how annoying that there isn't anything as convenient + comprehensive for us as Cowell's Syrian Arabic reference!) Palestine NT

Hello Nehme, well I think it's better to rewrite the article from the beginning since most of it have been written before 2012. However there is no problem if we kept the most up-to-date content. We should focus primarily on the introduction and history section. The infobox, statistics and current squad is easy and will not take that much time. We can use one of our's sandbox if you want. Juventus template squad list

Hi, on Juventus official website for this season there is not a section called "First Team", I don't know why. @Iggy the Swan: I don't know, doesn't really make sense to just re-order the categories. Regardless, since he isn't doing any harm I wouldn't consider it a problem. I also sometimes re-order them to make sure everything is there (because I have a specific order in my head, which differs from the order another user might have). I only apply the edit if something has actually changed though (added or removed); in the case of Butland, the user added a template so it's ok for me.

@ONUnicorn: He's nowhere to be found on Soccerway, the article states that he was the top scorer of Fujairah at the UAE Pro-League in the 2017–18 season. However, Fujairah was not there at all that season, but in the division below. Two sources are Transfermarkt, an unreliable source, while I have the suspicion that the other two are fake websites, used with the intent to mask fake articles. Notice how both the pages use exactly the same (low resolution) photo of Maradona: a coincidence? Anyway, after all this has been said, he clearly doesn't pass WP:GNG, and there are no sources to verify that he has actually played for the teams stated in the infobox (therefore, not passing WP:NFOOTY). About Giannis Matzourakis' name is 100% fault because there is no the n (Γιάννης Μαντζουράκης as you can see in Greek wikipedia). Also, PAE Chania will be like PAE Kerkyra (Chania F.C.). About the logo of A.E.K. (sports club) is a different logo now so if you can remove this file from wikipedia (i do not know how to do it, sorry). The emblem of AEK Athens F.C. is different because is a department of AEK Athletic Club (not sports club) and as the legislation says here in Greece they have to use different logos. @GRanemos1: I've taken care of the logo situation, it's now on both AEK V.C. and AEK Women's Volleyball Club, and shouldn't be deleted in the future. As for being unable to move pages, it's the same for me. I don't have any special permissions for moving over redirects, so the only solution is to go to Wikipedia:Requested moves. This is what you should do:
  1. Go to Wikipedia:Requested moves/Controversial
  2. Go to the "Requesting multiple page moves" section
  3. Copy the code displayed (the one that starts with "{{subst:requested move..."), and paste it at the end of the talk page article of which you want to change its name (for example, Talk:PAE Kerkyra)
  4. Fill in the code with all the clubs you want to change (the code only goes up to "current3" and "new3", you have to add "current4" and "new4", "current5" and "new5", etc.)
  5. Now after you are done with the clubs, do the same for the players. So, copy the code from Requesting multiple page moves again, and paste it at the end of the talk page of a player (for example, Talk:Nikolaos Aggelakis).
  6. Repeat step 4

@GRanemos1: Ah yeah, that's true. According to the Wikipedia policy (WP:NFC#UUI, #17), it is unacceptable to use non-free logos for "the logo of an entity used for identification of one of its child entities, when the child entity lacks its own branding. The specific child entity's logo remains acceptable." Meaning that you can't use the logo of a parent organization (A.E.K. (sports club)) in the article of a child entity (the volleyball club). See Lebanon national football team, for example: there is no logo because it's the same as the logo of its parent entity (Lebanese Football Association). Greece national football team, on the other hand, has the logo because it's specific to the national team; its parent entity (Hellenic Football Federation) has a different logo. @GRanemos1: Ahaha man I'm trying to help as much as possible. The problem is that it's against Wikipedia guidelines to have the same logo for both the parent and child clubs. Also Croatia national football team, finalists in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, don't have a logo; we can't do anything about it. AEK has a specific logo for the football club, so it's ok. It also has a specific logo for the basketball club, so that's also ok. However, both volleyball departments have the same logo as the parent entity, so it's not ok. I personally disagree with the wikipedia guideline, but I can't do anything about it. Deleting the current image, and uploading a new one (as you are suggesting) will only work for a few days. As for Taha; yes, he was born in Lebanon as an Egyptian (since, in Lebanon, the mother doesn't pass citizenship). He became a Lebanese citizen through naturalization in 1992 (probably to make him eligible for the Lebanese national team). On Wikipedia, in the lede (the first paragraphs), we don't use hyphenated nationalities (such as Lebanese-German, or Italian-French); either we use the dominant nationality (the one that the subject is notable for), or we just remove the nationality (keeping just Jamal Khamis Taha (...) is a professional football coach). Then, we can explain the nationality situation in another paragraph. See Bassel Jradi, for example: born and raised in Denmark, but has represented Lebanon's senior team. His page just says "...is a professional footballer who..."; then, further down, it explains his nationality situation ("Born in Denmark to Lebanese parents..."). In Jamal Taha's case, he isn't known for being Egyptian (I'm sure a lot of Lebanese football enthusiasts don't even know this). Nehme1499 (talk) 01:19, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Though when I read the sources within his CV, I found that he's an Egyptian national.

Removal of fixture and results

Hi

I see that you keep removing sections "Fixture and results" from Italy national football team page. Did you at least start a talk and get approval for this?
In order to justify yor actions, you recalled:

  • Talk:Belgium national football team/GA1#Recent results that seems to be a particular case alongside few more (I guess only Scotland national football team and Perù) thus NOT relevant.
  • WP:RECENT that do NOT directly state that such sections have to be removed, but just underline that recent info may vary. In addition, in national football team pages also other sections can be subjected to recent events (e.g. current squad and recent calls up). As per your tought also these sections have to be removed. It does not seems anyway that Italy National FB team page has inbalanced focus on recent events.

I know that you removed this section due to an edit war, but this cannot be considered as a reason for arbitral removal. Hi @Riktetta. Yes, I had started a discussion at the WikiProject Football talk page (@HawkAussie has already discussed the issue with the IP on his talk page). Regarding Belgium, Peru, and Scotland: those are not irrelevant and random cases, they are the ONLY national team pages which are FAs. @Number 57: The text reads مبعوثى أمينةخانم بوغرا, ergo "Mab3utha/Envoy AminaKhanum Bughra" (Amina and Khanum seem to be attached). The word "hanım"/"khanum" (see Wiktionary) means "lady", or "miss" in Ottoman Turkish. So her name would just be "Amina Bughra", with "mab3utha" meaning Envoy, and "hanım" just being a word meaning "miss", or "lady". @SuperJew: Yeah grammatically speaking the two words are separate. However, the physical script in the image has them one next to the other (basically, I'm reading it as "AminaKhanum", rather than "Amina Khanum" or "Aminakhanum"). I don't know if there is any reason as to why it's written like this, or if the guy who wrote it by hand just happened to write the two words attached to one another. Hey, I was looking at 2019–20 Lebanese FA Cup and noticed there were matches missing. Trying to find what happened I found RSSSF saying the rounds were cancelled due to civil unrest. Yeah, I saw that part in the lede, but it mentions "financial reasons" (as opposed to civil unrest which are not exactly the same). The civil unrest and financial instability are strictly linked. The protests themselves didn't stop football activities in Lebanon, rather the financial difficulty in carrying on football in the country. While the federation officially suspended footballing activities on 21 January 2020, the last games played were in October 2019. The reason for that being that nobody has seemingly gotten round to requesting an WP:RM for the article to be moved to the subject's WP:COMMONNAME. Compare 7,190,000 results for "Arthur" juventus -Melo to 157,000 for "Arthur Melo" juventus. I'm sure similar variants will yield similar results. The statement you added to the article that the subject is "commonly known as Arthur Melo or simply Arthur" is demonstrably untrue; it should, in fact, be the other way around. And what is that Platini playing for Kuwait thing all about, what a lot of random nonsense, I look forward to seeing Ibrahimovic (or someone other star on the verge of retirement, take your pick) popping up for Lebanon in the next friendly. Juventus

Nowhere on Juventus' wiki does it mention their champions league campaigns from 2018-20. Removing certain events like say mentioning Ronaldo's hat trick is one thing, but removing the entire event is unacceptable.

Their champions league campaigns are a part of their history and adding 1 line to mention what they did in Europe that year is necessary. @GiantSnowman: You are the one who reverted me. I just re-instated the article to how it was prior to your revert. If the information is there, why remove it? Also, you are reverting a batch of edits I have made just to remove 4 numbers from the infobox, couldn't you have just done that instead? Now, the Club career section is overlinked (some clubs are linked twice, some even thrice, in the same section). Also, per Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players, there is no section called "early and personal life", only "Early life" and "Personal life"; also, "...who played at both professional and international..." isn't standard wording in the lede. Per MOS:SPELL09, you shouldn't have "...scoring 6 goals", rather "...scoring six goals". Finally, NFT.com doesn't have all the full matches (especially pre-2000). As you can see here (click on "Matches"), quite a lot of the 1996 matches, for example, have either partial or missing data. I perfectly know that source. It's fundamental to follow it for these kind of templates. However, what happened today in Vinovo it meant that the whole team includes even those six new players. Therefore, the new season's started. My French is not the best, but I know a bit, I can read a lot better than I can write. I don't see any sources online really for the football club. It's a very hard one to find, the other thing I could only think of which seems far more logical to me is maybe is the P is just for Port! heh. I really don't think I am being much help know on the Lebanon team. And there were far more pressing issues during the French Mandate, first the rebuilding after the fall of the Ottomans and WW1 then the rise of fascism into WW2 all that must of hampered the football played. @Govvy: Yeah there is really nothing relating to the club. If you search for Arabic: نادي السكة لبنان, there are a few Arabic sources, mainly talking about the early history of the Lebanese Premier League, mentioning the club as one of the league's early winners. Regarding sources available online, there is this match report of a 1940 friendly between Mandatory Palestine and Lebanon. I also have some personal pictures of (the now defunct) Camille Cordahi, given to be by his daughter. I can clearly see that the logo says DPHB, and a lot of pictures have text on the back saying things like "DPHB v H. Sport, 1939", or things of that nature. Also, the daughter sent me a bit of info on the player, saying that he worked for the Lebanese railways while playing for their club. So it's obvious that DPHB was the Lebanese railways football club. We just need to know what the acronym stands for. @Maudslayer: Hi, I'm still investigating Nercesse and Guiragos. I'm fairly confident that they are Armenians, as it was common to call Armenian footballers by just their names (Levon instead of Levon Altounian, Vartan instead of Vartan Ghazarian, Jerard instead of Jerard Ajamian, etc.) Here is says that Guiragos and Oksen Ourfalian moved to Homenetmen Jerusalem (from Homenetmen Beirut) in 1942. Unfortunately, it just says "Guiragos", which is problematic because I assume that he didn't return back to Lebanon (meaning that I can't find him in post-1942 Lebanese sources). Filippo Lora and Maicol Origlio numbers for Monza

Unfortunately, official Serie B website is FUBAR at the moment. However both ESPN and La Gazzetta dello Sport both list Lora and Origlio under numbers 43 and 71 respectively. The last time Lora was on the matchday squad for Monza (Coppa Italia game on 18 August 2019 against Fiorentina) his number was 8, and for Origlio (15 December 2018 against AlbinoLeffe) number was 7. Origlio's number on loan at Rende was 6. Lora's number on loan at Ravenna was 32.

So, 43 and 71 are not some random numbers that both ESPN and La Gazzetta happened to assign the same way, or numbers that were carried over by mistake from old seasons data. Both La Gazzetta and ESPN received those new numbers from official sources, I presume. Never mind that they are themselves reliable sources.

I think that the two players should still be kept as "Other players under contract", as Monza's official website doesn't list them, Monza's player presentation montage doesn't include them, and they weren't called up to either the league and cup games. @Mr. Port: The full name parameter is only to be used if his common name is different from his full name (see Hassan Maatouk, who's full name is Hassan Ali Maatouk). He has only played one game for Senegal—in 2013—so we can't say that he is still currently a national team player. And I don't understand why you are removing the stub template. There is no prose at all in the article other than the lede. About 1000-1500 bytes of prose size is usually the minimum for an article not to be stub, and the article is currently at 350 bytes. If there are only 2 people, we don't need any disambiguation, just at a hatnote at the two articles that the other exists. If we had 3 or more people, we could have Luca Lombardi (disambiguation). A few things you seem not to know:
  1. Google serves searchers differently. So I did a quick google search: 1 en-Wikpiedia Luca Lombardi (google doesn't know how that was changed), 2 de-Wikipedia Luca Lombardi (the composer, of course), 3 indeed the footballer (probably because it's recent news), 4 Ricordi (composer's publisher), 6+7 entries of footballer's transfer website, 8-10 back to the composer, including Academy of Arts. For me - different preferences in the Google search obviously - I see 7 to 3 on the first page for the composer, and the higher ranking ones. if I would conclude a primary topic from there, it would be the composer.
  2. But I don't. I see a well-established composer with a history, vs. a footballer who seems to have caused a temporary hype in the news.
  3. How many links to the composer? 28. To the footballer? Looks like 49, but how many in articles, discounting WP-pages and the template (35)??
  4. What if a footballer by the name of Ludwig van Beethoven was transferred, would you change the composer?
  5. For me, there's clearly a primary topic. But let's assume for a moment the composer wasn't. We could still have the composer as he was (just name), the footballer with dab in brackets, hatnotes for both, and - if you or the MoS insist - a true dab page, not making a long-term page suddenly a dab. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:42, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Coritiba

Hey there, so I did some more looking into the Coritiba club from the Scanu article and I think the reason we never found a reference to "Itabaiana Coritiba" and it only said "Coritiba" is because it's not called Itabaiana, it's just the name of the town. Based on their Facebook page and their Twitter page their name is "Coritiba de Sergipe" or "Coritiba Foot Ball Club" just like the main club. I'm thinking of making a page move, but am not sure whether it should be moved to:

  • Coritiba de Sergipe
  • Coritiba Foot Ball Club de Sergipe
  • Coritiba Foot Ball Club (Sergipe)
  • Coritiba Foot Ball Club (Itabaiana)

@RedPatchBoy: Ahh makes sense. I think the best option is Coritiba Foot Ball Club (Sergipe), using (Sergipe) as a disambiguator. The logos of Coritiba Foot Ball Club and Itabaiana Coritiba Foot Ball Club are exactly the same, the only difference is the text "SERGIPE" instead of "PARANA'" on the bottom. Given that Coritiba Foot Ball Club is not called "Coritiba Foot Ball Club Parana'", I would say that Itabaiana Coritiba Foot Ball Club should also be called Coritiba Foot Ball Club, adding (Sergipe) to disambiguate (as the Parana' club is the notable one).
