History
[edit]Xinjiang Silk Road Eagles Football Club was founded on February 4, 2024, with the vision of becoming a professional football club that represents Xinjiang on the national stage. The club adopted a unique membership-based model, the first of its kind in the region, allowing fans to participate in the club's management and operations actively. This innovative approach aims to create a sustainable foundation for the club's growth and foster a strong connection with the local community.
The club officially registered as a professional entity in early 2024 and began preparations for its debut season in the China Champions League (Xinjiang Division). On March 2, 2024, the club appointed Spanish head coach Fernando, a former La Liga player and experienced coach, to lead the team.[5][6]
The Xinjiang Silk Road Eagles made their competitive debut on March 23, 2024, in the China Champions League (Xinjiang Division).[7]
