Worlds Beyond Number is an actual play audio drama podcast created by Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, Taylor Moore, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Lou Wilson and narrated by the same group (minus Moore). The first season was released to the public on March 1, 2023. The podcast is produced by publisher Fortunate Horse.[1] Paid Patreon subscribers are able to enjoy exclusive content only produced on that platform.[2]

Premise

Worlds Beyond Number is an actual play audio drama whose inaugural effort uses Dungeons & Dragons as its initial background and Role-playing game system.[3] Their initial story, entitled The Wizard, The Witch, & The Wild One, follows a trio of friends on their adventures through a fantastical D&D setting.[4] Mulligan serves as the initial gamemaster, while Ishii plays the character of Ame, a witch; Iyengar plays Suvi, a wizard; and Wilson plays Eursulon, a spirit.[5]

On February 1, more than 2,500 people watched the cast livestream on Instagram as they launched the Patreon page for their podcast.[6] The podcast is ranked first in the Patreon 'Games' category and tenth among all Patreon accounts by number of paid supporters, as of April 2024.[7]

The podcast is well reviewed, as of February 2024, it holds 4.9 out of 5 stars on Apple Podcasts, with more than 2,000 ratings.[8] On Audible it holds 5 out of 5 stars with 40 ratings, as of February 2024.[9]
