Worldle is a 2022 web-based puzzle geography game created and developed by French game developer Antoine Teuf.[1]

In 2024, Worldle would come under legal scrutiny by The New York Times, current owner of Wordle an attempt at trademarking Worldle was made, depite only being one letter off from Wordle. While Worldle's creator claims that the game is different enough from Wordle, The New York Times refutes this by stating that the game uses incredibly similar audio and visuals to their game.[2]

Gameplay

[edit]

Worldle tests players' knowledge of geography. They have six guesses to find the country of the day based on the distance from it compared to previous guesses. There are also bonus games within Worldle. These include guessing the flag, bordering countries, and general facts about the country. The game was inspired by the web-based word game Wordle.
