The World Plumbing Council (WPC) is an international organization of plumbing associations and plumbing industry participants . There are currently over 200 WPC members from more than 30 countries around the world.

Mission

The World Plumbing Council (WPC) plays a pivotal role in advancing plumbing as a vital industry globally. Its mission is to promote the health and sustainability benefits of plumbing, emphasizing its critical contribution to public health, environmental sustainability, and resource management. By fostering collaboration among plumbing professionals, governments, and organizations, WPC supports the development of effective plumbing systems worldwide. Their initiatives include knowledge sharing, advocating for best practices, and enhancing technical education for industry practitioners.[1]

Activities

The WPC organizes initiatives like World Plumbing Day, celebrated annually on March 11, to raise awareness about plumbing’s essential role in safeguarding public health.[2] The council also collaborates with construction and engineering bodies to address global challenges such as water scarcity and sanitation. These efforts aim to align plumbing standards with sustainable development goals, ensuring equitable access to safe water and improved sanitation worldwide.[1]

The WPC hosts the World Plumbing Conference once every three years.[3] The last conference was in September 2019 in Melbourne, Australia.
