Women in music

[edit]

See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women/Women in Red for proposal for a Women in music editathon in January or February 2016.--Ipigott (talk) 16:28, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Statistics

[edit]

Is there any way of gathering statistics from the various projects we participate in? I realise that both new and updated articles are included in our monthly projects and lists. I'd just like to know how many new articles were produced for each month's project, without having to go into each project page to find out and felt this Project page may be a possible location.--Oronsay (talk) 22:42, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for help including a new woman in sports / swimming / women of the sea

[edit]

Thank you Women in Red for reaching out to me while drafting a page for Jaimie Monahan. I'd love some help getting a page for Jaimie established. I'm still new at editing so guidance and help editing would be greatly appreciated. I've included her based on the fact she is the 1st person to compete the Ice 7s (swimming a mile on all 7 continents in water below 5C - think 7 summits but in water) and her recent induction into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame among other accomplishments.

I appreciate any and all help.

Is there a list of women who could be written about for the event 'Ukraine's Cultural Diplomacy Month 2023'?

[edit]

Hi all

I just received a banner message for https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ukraine%27s_Cultural_Diplomacy_Month_2023, my question is is there any existing redlists of women who might be suitable for this? If so would anyone else be interested in writing for it? There appear to be a few people without articles in English on their suggested list, but really not many. Sorry if I missed something previously discussing this.

Thanks

Wiki Loves Sport 2024

[edit]

Hi everybody. From July 22th to September 22th will took place (on line) the Wiki Loves Sport 2024 campaign ideated and organized by WikiDonne since 2019 to write about sport-related topics on the Wikimedia projects. The campaign will cover the whole period of Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and to write . Till now, other affiliates signed to participate (COD, WMFR, CMW). As I'm setting the sitenotice banner, I would be happy to know that someone from WiR can participate, so I can also add en as language. In case, the Who? section is the place to add the link to the page in enwiki, the Affiliates or groups is the place for the logo and here is the campaign in Dashboard for the metrics (just create a new program starting from this campaign). Thank you. Camelia (talk) 14:38, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These are the navigation links we provide at the top of every event:

Recently completed: Asian women Geofocus: Islands Q–Z Women in engineering
New this month: Women who died: 2024 Religion
Ongoing initiatives: #1day1woman Education
Upcoming events: Ideas

Question: what should the links look like on previous events? Should they stay as they looked at the time, or should they update to show the current situation? For example in February 2024, the links would be the same as the above, or they could be:

Recently completed: Women who died: 2023 Alphabet run: M & N Temperance Women
February 2024: Alphabet run: O & P Black women
Ongoing initiatives: #1day1woman Education
Upcoming events: Alphabet run: Q & R Art+Feminism Find Her Ideas

(I thought I was posting on the main project talk, but now I see it is a subpage. I will leave this here to see if it gets noticed.) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:17, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@WomenArtistUpdates: as expected no one responded here (it would be better if this talk page redirects to the main project talk), but perhaps you would like to? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:25, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi MSGJ, I think it is fine the way it is. My experience is that if I am looking for an historical event I look in the Past events section of the WiR footer template "Women in Red navigation" and I am pretty sure that is the behavior for most of us. That said, I think you should go with the most stable option...I assume it is the current coding. Best, --WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 22:35, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
