Riku
There is currently a discussion in Talk:Riku (Kingdom Hearts Character)#Expansion on the article in regards to the fact the article was briefly created. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 10:34, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
Back in the game
Just trimmed up the plot sections of FF6 and FF7 (and FF8 to a small extent). It's amazing how long the sections were 10 years ago: and we thought we were being succinct at the time! —Deckiller (t-c-l) 23:09, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

A little of help with Vaan
I'm not a fan of the XII series, but I was "triggered" to expand the articles of Vaan and Balthier. I found this interview with Vaan's English actor but I have a problem. Since English is not my first language my listening is not very, especially with how weird Edner sounds in the article. Could anybody add something about from the interview to the article? Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 19:34, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Ivalice update
Just letting people know. The game Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is now a GA. That means the only Ivalice-related title not to be GA or higher is Crystal Defenders, which I've expanded as much as possible but don't actually feel like taking the rest of the way. If anyone wants to, they can take on that article. Then it'll be a short step to perhaps an Ivalice Good Topic. It'll certainly be a step forward for the SQEX project as a whole. --ProtoDrake (talk) 14:48, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm, you've got it pretty much there; I'll try to take a pass at it to get it bumped to GA if no one else jumps on it. --PresN 15:11, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- I found some screenshots for this game series before I made an account. I found this webpage that has a screenshot of Crystal Guardians W1 [1] and this one for Vanguard Storm [2]. I don't know which one is more beneficial for Crystal Guardians/Defenders. the most oldest or the newest. The most recent is Crystal Defenders Plus, and I could demo it and get a screenshot however don't know how to upload them to wikipediaBlue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 18:41, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

- I've nominated FFTactics and Ivalice at WP:FTC as two separate topics. --PresN 21:18, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

Final Fantasy series at FTC... again
Since ProtoDrake got Final Fantasy XV to GA as of today, I've gone ahead and re-re-nominated the Final Fantasy series topic at WP:FTC, marking it's 7th appearance on that page in various forms. --PresN 18:02, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
Cloud's height
While trying to expand Cloud Strife, I noted that for reason his height is listed. Is it that important? Also, while there is a lot of information about Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese voice actor) I can't find too much about his English. Also, shouldn't the reception section be rearranged to make it look more like Lightning or Tidus? I see some sources that don't seem necessary. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 20:51, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- I managed to find more creation information of Cloud but I don't know how to divide it since the new one is about the remake. Still, are you guys interested in turning it into a FA? There is too much time until Square releases the remake. Still, I think the reception section needs a bit of clean up while the prose might need some check. What do you think @ProtoDrake:, @PresN:?Tintor2 (talk) 00:26, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- It seems alright. Yes, the reception section need some cleaning-up. Also, the references probably need some additional work such as archiving. Also... I really don't think height is necessary. It wasn't for Lightning for GA or FA. In fact, that's one of the points that needed addressing before a pass. --ProtoDrake (talk) 11:15, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- Rearranged the reception section and worked on the quote video game section. Still, I wonder if the section "In Final Fantasy VII" might need trimming considering how big it is.Tintor2 (talk) 16:46, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that the height shouldn't be included. That's the sort of little fictional detail I'd typically remove from an article, unless it's somehow really important to understanding the character. (ie character is 8 foot tall and ridiculed throughout the game for it or something.) Sergecross73 msg me 19:54, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

- @Sergecross73: @ProtoDrake: Trimmed the FFVII section a bit more and rearranged more the reception section. I also found how Steve Burton was selected to voice the character.Tintor2 (talk) 22:26, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- Do you guys think I should request for a copyedit already or does somebody want to work furthermore?Tintor2 (talk) 16:25, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- BTW, I heard a guidebook titled The Legend of Final Fantasy VII has been released in English regions. Maybe that book might help some of the VII articles, especially Cloud.Tintor2 (talk) 01:17, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
Dissidia (series) page?
Should there be a page for Dissidia as a spin-off series? There are a total of 4 games (5 if you consider Dissidia arcade and Dissidia NT separate games). All the games are really well done too.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 15:54, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Blue Pumpkin Pie: There's enough games for one, sure, but you'd need to find a few sources that talk about the series as a whole, otherwise you'd just be summarizing the existing articles and sticking those summaries together. --PresN 01:43, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oh ok. makes sense.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 13:05, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
Discussion about the recent changes to Template:Final Fantasy series
There's an ongoing discussion about the recent changes to the main FF template here and your feedback is requested. Axem Titanium (talk) 01:44, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- PresN has proposed a new format for the navbox, previewed below. Please discuss at the template talk page. Axem Titanium (talk) 21:38, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Something about Tidus and Yuna
As many as you know, Nomura made new designs for the two FFX characters that was presented in a museum to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise. Do you think it's worth needed to include or we should only post it if it's a free image?
By the way, an anon requested for an edit here. I think he might be right. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 15:20, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
WikiProject collaboration notice from the Portals WikiProject
The reason I am contacting you is because there are one or more portals that fall under this subject, and the Portals WikiProject is currently undertaking a major drive to automate portals that may affect them.
Portals are being redesigned.
The new design features are being applied to existing portals.
At present, we are gearing up for a maintenance pass of portals in which the introduction section will be upgraded to no longer need a subpage. In place of static copied and pasted excerpts will be self-updating excerpts displayed through selective transclusion, using the template {{Transclude lead excerpt}}.
The discussion about this can be found here.
Maintainers of specific portals are encouraged to sign up as project members here, noting the portals they maintain, so that those portals are skipped by the maintenance pass. Currently, we are interested in upgrading neglected and abandoned portals. There will be opportunity for maintained portals to opt-in later, or the portal maintainers can handle upgrading (the portals they maintain) personally at any time.
Background
On April 8th, 2018, an RfC ("Request for comment") proposal was made to eliminate all portals and the portal namespace. On April 17th, the Portals WikiProject was rebooted to handle the revitalization of the portal system. On May 12th, the RfC was closed with the result to keep portals, by a margin of about 2 to 1 in favor of keeping portals.
Since the reboot, the Portals WikiProject has been busy building tools and components to upgrade portals.
So far, 84 editors have joined.
If you would like to keep abreast of what is happening with portals, see the newsletter archive.
If you have any questions about what is happening with portals or the Portals WikiProject, please post them on the WikiProject's talk page.
Thank you. — The Transhumanist 11:01, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
Topic Building Status
We have two new Good Articles and two soon to be approved good and featured topics, congrats all around! I wanted to highlight the topics nearest to being complete Good or Featued topics.
- ’’Characters of the Final Fantasy VII series’’ - This is by far the biggest get for us, because this being a Good Article gets us TWO Good topics; one for Final Fantasy VII and one for The Characters of Final Fantasy VII topic because all the character articles are GA. We will need to have the Final Fantasy VII Remake peer reviewed as well, but the main thing would be this article.
- ’’Final Fantasy Awakening’’ - This would get us a Fabula Nova Crystalis Good Topic.
- ’’Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward’’ - This would get us a Final Fantasy XIV Good topic.
- ’’Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon’’ - This would get is a Chocobo video game series Good topic.
- ’’Characters of Final Fantasy X and X-2’’ - This would get us a Final fantasy X/X-2 good topic.
Judgesurreal777 (talk) 17:01, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Chocobo one is probably a bit sketchy, as which games have articles feels a bit arbitrary, but the other ones are pretty solid beyond the listed gaps here. --PresN 17:10, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Great job everyone. Any thoughts on trying to get FF4 as a featured topic?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 17:49, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- It’s my favorite ‘’Final Fantasy’’ series, but can we maybe do these articles first? So close to like half a dozen new Good and Featured articles, and there really are not that many of us anymore, perhaps we should have one focus at a time... Judgesurreal777 (talk) 18:01, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- No problem. I'm not familiar with these, so I'm going to be very slow at it. I'm also trying to get another unrelated series to be featured topic. What do you think Characters of FFX and X2 need to get it to GA or Featured?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 18:09, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- With that one in particular, I think copy editing and trimming anything people like to call “in-universe” fluff or excessive detail, making it readable to non-fans who don’t know the plot, and last part is bulk up some of the creation of these characters, see if there are any new articles popping up in the last few years about that process. Anything else would come up in the nomination process. Part of what I was envisioning was what we did a decade ago, where we might help each other work on articles and Shepard them through GA. We don’t Always have to “Superman” a whole article from start to finish, although many here have gotten quite super at that! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 18:15, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- I'd also like to stress that Awakening needs a potential rewrite, and has very little in the way of critic reviews or gameplay information. And I think the Chocobo game articles either need a rewrite or to be put through GAR, as they don't seem in a very good state. I'll do some tidying right now on the VII Characters article, but since I've only just finished the Crystal Chronicles GAN and have both Tomb Raider Legend and Legend of Dragoon lined up as my next projects, I'm taking a bit of a rest from active GA work. --ProtoDrake (talk) 18:32, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

- I just nominated Heavensward for GA. Axem Titanium (talk) 22:28, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- just out of curiosity, was there a Blitz ball article before? Seems like a minigame worth having an article on. I'm not good with reception, so probably not.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 19:20, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- There was from 2004 until 2008. Then it got merged into Minigames of Final Fantasy, which was itself merged in 2011 into Gameplay of Final Fantasy, which then finally got combined with two other articles in 2016 into the present Recurring elements in the Final Fantasy series. By this point it's been so diluted that Blitzball doesn't even get a mention. Note that the original article was nothing but a gameguide, and the Minigames/Gameplay mentions were just "it existed, you had to play one game, GameSpot said it was okay" but with more words. I doubt there's enough reception/development out there to support an article; its mentions in Final Fantasy X aren't substantial enough to spin out right now. --PresN 19:48, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- OK thanks for explaining that for me. I wouldn't even know how a minigame could be more notable than the actual game. Blitzball seemed like the best candidate for it.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 21:01, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

Final Fantasy Ultimania books
It appears the Final Fantasy Ultimania books will be officially released in Europe based on article I found in Neogaf. Considering they tend to too much creation, it might be useful to articles like Squall and Zidane (at least the image I saw the artwork of Cloud, Squall and Zidane by Amano). Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 20:38, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- Official source for clarity. First part Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 1 is available from 5 June 2018, covering Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy VI. Also, please let's not get carried away adding info just because the Ultimanias are being translated into English. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:51, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- The cover and divisions make it look like it's going to be English translations of Final Fantasy 25th Memorial Ultimania Volume 1/2/3 (Translated Ultimania site for original book), which should be good. Will add to List of Square Enix companion books. --PresN 21:33, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- I preordered the US version so feel free to ask me for scans. Axem Titanium (talk) 15:25, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

- Not sure if it's kosher to bump a topic like this but I didn't want to make a new section for something minor. Anyway, my copy came in today. The book covers FF1-6. Ask me anything. Axem Titanium (talk) 01:31, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
- Characters of the Final Fantasy IV series might need some creation info based on its current state but I only played the first one so I don't know about the sequel.Tintor2 (talk) 01:36, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
I've made an article for the PlayStation game that was at least Published by Enix, and possibly co-developed. More sources are the most needed. Also there's a review in Famitsu 555 that is in Japanese, and I need translated before I can use it. Harizotoh9 (talk) 18:32, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
