It has been suggested that the use of the phrase British Isles in Steak and kidney pudding is not accurate. THe use of this term is being discussed at WT:BISE#Steak and kidney pudding. If you would like to contribute to the debate please do so. --HighKing (talk) 19:13, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Everything Tastes Better with Bacon - peer review
I have put this article up for peer review, the discussion is at Wikipedia:Peer review/Everything Tastes Better with Bacon/archive1. Comments on how to further improve the article's quality are welcome there. Thank you for your time, -- Cirt (talk) 10:28, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
calories pls?
Correct me if I'm wrong, please. When the calories in food is discussed, these are technically kilocalories, yes? The can of Mountain Dew in my lap which lists "170 calories" per can, in fact contains 170 kilocalories (710 kJ)? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 17:52, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Margarine
I know where butter comes from and I know how it is made.This is all I need to know. Margarine,if I avoid it, I am sure it cannot hurt me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.65.28.228 (talk) 03:00, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's your choice, but margarine is not necessarily worse than butter in terms of salt, preservatives, trans-fats, and calories. -- Sjschen (talk) 20:36, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

3 chemical senses
Hi, the article on flavour refers to 3 chemical senses but I can only find reference to two anywhere else. Can someone clarify or correct? I don't know enough personally, sorry. If there are three then this is important info to go on the sense pages?
Thanks for all the info and work, its wonderful for me. I am looking at senses because I have realised that, as a writer, I have been neglecting some of them and relying to much on others in my way of seeing the world.
Best

Invitation to participation!
Hello!
As you may be aware, the Wikimedia Foundation is gearing up for our annual fundraiser. We want to hit our goal and hit it as soon as possible, so that we can focus on Wikipedia's tenth anniversary on January 15 and our new project: Contributions. I'm posting across these Wikiprojects to engage you, the community, to work to build Wikipedia by finance but also by content. We seek donations not only financially, but by collaboration in building content. You can find more information in Philippe Beaudette's memo to the communities here.
Visit the Contribution project page and the Fundraising page to find out how you can help us support and spread free knowledge. Keegan, Wikimedia Fundraiser 2010 (talk) 06:02, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
The article Indio Viejo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- A search for references found lots usage of the term, usage as dish is limited and seems to fail WP:N and WP:NOT
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JeepdaySock (AKA, Jeepday) 16:36, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

instant noodles, ramen and ramenrater.com
Hi there -
Just a little confused why my review site keeps getting removed from the ramen and instant ramen topics. www.ramenrater.com has tons of pertinent information not available on the pages and it doesn't sell anything so I wouldn't see how it would be advertising. The external link for ramen now is rather useless as it is for an industry association that really doesn't pertain to retaurant ramens. Kind of confused here...

Category:Ethnic restaurants
The member categories in Category:Ethnic restaurants have names that are ambiguous. For instance there is Category:Hungarian restaurants. Now, in that case that category has Category:Restaurants in Hungary as a sub-category. That distinction may not always be obvious, however, and I suggest that these categories should be renamed. In the Hungarian example, I would suggest Category:Restaurants serving Hungarian cuisine or Category:Hungarian cuisine restaurants. The other categories would follow this scheme. I want to nominate these categories for renaming at categories for discussion, but I figured I'd request comments here first. __meco (talk) 11:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think this is a good idea. The scheme Category:Hungarian restaurants is clearly ambiguous, and your suggested rename would clarify when it refers to the cuisine and not the location. I think the shorter scheme following Category:Hungarian cuisine restaurants sounds better, but either suggestion would do. Chefallen (talk) 21:07, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK. I'll check in later to see if more people have opinions on this. __meco (talk) 23:46, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
History of chocolate in Spain
Here's an idea for the English Wikipedia.
The Spanish Wikipedia has eS:Historia del chocolate en España - There is no English version, and the Spanish article is featured.
Who would be interested in starting an English version? WhisperToMe (talk) 21:37, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Apples of Sodom - Poisonous, not a food
The article Calotropis procera (aka "Apple of Sodom", this redirects to former) was tagged for inclusion in the food and drink category. Considering it is described as highly poisonous, and there isn't much of any substance to the fruit that would be edible if it weren't (it's essentially a hollow globe), I would think this article should be removed from the food/drink category. — al-Shimoni (talk) 01:31, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
