Misc notes for Gog (no problem in blurb)
[edit]Hi Gog, Whilst these aren't in blurb itself... some look strange to me. I wasn't prepared to make any changes though. If you are inclined to make any tweaks, it might make for less fiddling tomorrow. I'm mentioning all here rather than on different talk pages.
Article
- The Mercenary War campaign box should be showing the battle as unclickable black but it is blue because it links to a redirect.
- Ditto in the Battles of the Punic Wars nav box at bottom.
- In lede "and Hippo (modern Bizerte)" - duplicate link intentional?
- At "the Carthaginian general Hanno led a series of campaigns" - should that now be piped instead to Hanno II the Great?
- at "and Hippo (modern Bizerte" - duplicate links again intentional?
- "The Carthaginians needed to gain the far side of the Bagradas, so they could manoeuvre freely, but lacked the strength to force a crossing against the superior rebel force guarding against this" - mention bridge in this para?
- Sources - tweak Jones alpha order
Talk page
- The article milestones mentions it is a Mercenary War Good topic member but it is now a Featured topic. It is correct in blurb ie Wikipedia:Featured topics/Mercenary War.
Articles linked from blurb
- At Hamilcar Barca#Battle of Macar River it points to Battle of the Bagradas River (239 BC), a redirect.
- In Spendius the battle goes to a different redirect Battle of the Bagradas River (c. 240 BC) x3, in the infobox battle tree, in the Mercenary War Campaignbox and in the prose.
- In Mercenary War#Hamilcar, the battle link is the circa redirect again, and same in the bottom Battles of the Punic Wars nav template.
Leaving with you who'll know the history of the redirects etc, - better than me guessing what does and doesn't need tweaking.
