Possibly an added Note on embedded file formats v. uploaded image file formats...I think many Users will see a 'short' file format that might be confusing if the User isn't aware of the difference. This clarification might be helpful since both options are available.

- What I liked
I really loved the adventure! I thought I cannot know more about Wikipedia, it just feels amazing to finally know how to use it perfectly, I only had one mistake, I can't actually believe it, it is better than any tutorials I have played on, considering the cool background for the game, and the live-chat tutorial! I had fun and I don't regret wasting these times I've had with it!
- What I didn't like
Actually, the mistake I had traveled upon was one of the hardest questions, that is to choose between 3 categories, I think the game needs more of that AWESOME tips before they take the question.
- What I wanted more of
Tips before questions.
- What was unnecessary
Nothing is unnecessary! I feel pumped!
- Any other thoughts you want to share
Nah, I personally said all that I wanted to share above.

Feedback on 'The Wikipedia Adventure'
- What I liked
From a beginner's perspective, I think 'The Adventure' provides a fairly good introduction and walkthrough to Wikipedia. It was fine to have 'Earth' as the recurring article to work with and add to as the introduction progressed. I got a good 'feel' of the user interface and the way to do things. But that's only from a beginner's perspective. Experienced editors may have something they would like to add. Maybe I myself will change my mind about 'The Adventure' when I get more experience, it is difficult to say beforehand...
- What I didn't like
- I didn't like the toon character. The various drawings of the toon were poorly made. I think you should make up another toon from scratch. Have a graphical designer or a cartoonist look into it, please.
- In Mission 4 on 'The Neutral Point of View', there was a particular message I didn't like. The message said: "The NPOV policy: Articles must not take sides, but should explain the sides, fairly and without bias. This applies both to what you say and how you say it. Give this a good, deep brain inhale. Let it soak into your cortexes. Think you got it?" I think the tone of this message is way out of place. It sounds impatient, unfriendly and aggressive. Maybe the administrative layers of Wikipedia are tired of explaining the same things over and over again to the newcomers - but hey, that tiredness is of no concern to the newcomers. Please, think this one over. Thx.
- What I wanted more of
By the end of 'The Adventure', I would like a short list of the 'what is next', the more advanced editing techniques and issues. This list should contain a short description of these editing techniques and issues, and then some relevant links to further reading. Also, some sample articles displaying the 'what is hot and what is not' when editing Wikipedia would be useful.
- What was unnecessary
Nothing unnecessary
- Any other thoughts you want to share
No, not for the moment.

Not exactly new to editing wikis but I still played through it, the badges looks pretty sweet.
I saw the thing about using section edits in the bugs section. I want to second that and add that the markup at the top of the page might be a bit confusing to new editors, if we used the section edit feature it would hide those text (at least in the parts before we add sections and where there is a level 1 heading in the earth article).
Another thing is that for the earth article you might want to point out that we don't usually use level 1 headings. and at some point that level 1 heading disappeared. I also suggest introducing templates somewhere in the tutorials because it might be one of the more confusing aspects of editing wiki pages especially if it is used in this tutorial.

pony = wrong... not the ponyyy i want the flower :)
more seriously:
You say click on "edit" but: if i click on "edit" it is the visual editor and the game don't work.
You would say "click on "edit source".
I wonder why you don't do the game for visual editor, to modify article. There you choose the wikicode interface and never speak about the 2 interfaces(wikicode and visual editor).
Often, if i don't do what is said, like wikilink, and i click "save page". If i don't remember what was required to do, i am bloqued. It say to me "modify the comment of the edit then click to save" but i am blocked,
In order to avance, i have to remember what the game wanted i do: make a wikilink on the word XX. If i remember, i can do, click on save, and advance (change page of the game). If i don't remember, i am blocked, and i have not succedded on find the request i had to do (not return when you click on "save").
Vatadoshufrench 10:43, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
I think about a point that have not be mentionned in the "game": the sandbox. the sandbox is important for a "newbie" who want to write an article and you don't speak once about it.

- What I liked
The narration is jargon-free and easily understood, more than other help articles in Wikipedia.
- What I didn't like
A bug I found. Here is the explanation, situation, and result. I was playing on the first mission, and had finished the italics part. I skipped the link part accidentally and couldn't go back, and I had already saved and couldn't go on. It should have said 'don't save yet'. I was forced to close the window, as there was no way to continue. So I restarted and earned the editor badge twice, which you can see on my page.
- What I wanted more of
Previewing pages before you edit them! It was all about saving immediately.
- What was unnecessary
It's designed for people for whom it is their first time. Not necessary, as it ignores the people who have had an account for a short time and have gone experimenting. As a teen myself, the approach seemed geared for younger people. I could deal with it, but it seemed kind of strange.
- Any other thoughts you want to share
I have had a few wikipedia accounts that I have forgotten the information of, like 'brackpedia'. So I have edited before. I had leapt straight into editing, and had mainly gone off of help articles, before playing this. It should be more friendly to people like that, instead of saying your only contributions are on your own page when you have also de-orphaned two pages, expanded a stub, and clarified the difference between fact and fiction on an article struggling with that(Dragonology)

- What I liked
I loved the way TWA motivated me to keep going through it and presented it in a fun way.
Oh, I liked the audio clips too.
- What I didn't like
I wish it had more information of vandalism and how to monitor it, and what, exactly counts as vandalism.
I also with it contained more formatting, such as setting a background, or creating a table/chart.
- What I wanted more of
More missions and advanced topics, please.
- What was unnecessary
Nothing I could think of.
- Any other thoughts you want to share
I feel like it could use some more user interaction, as most of it was just copying and pasting text, or choosing an obvious answer. But it was great fun and I learned more information on how to make Wikipedia a better place!
You should have more people see this, as I only stumbled on TWA from Teahouse links on other users' pages.

- What I liked
... I very much enjoyed the guided approach to teaching users the culture and methods associated with Wikipedia editing. I appreciated the interactive aspect, the use of badges as a motivator, and altogether the user-friendliness of the activity. I wish that there were more like it covering advanced concepts!
- What I didn't like
... I can't think of anything I disliked about the activity.
- What I wanted more of
... I would appreciate it if the tutorial went on a more detailed tour of the Wikipedia interface, especially considering that it is geared towards new users.
- What was unnecessary
... If there is anything that I would consider 'unnecessary', it is that a few of the exercises (the 'adding headings' and the 'adding images' exercises were the two that stood out to me the most) ask you to perform the same task several times. While it does certainly give you experience with adding images, etc., the tasks in question weren't overly difficult (in my opinion, at least), so I feel that the practice was a little excessive.
- Any other thoughts you want to share
... I personally think it might be beneficial to add another module to guide users through advanced editing, so that novice editors might be able to better contribute to Wikipedia from the very beginning. I would also love to see the creators of Wikipedia Adventure create modules on how to make a similar tutorial of one's own. I, for one, would love to help with any future iterations of this project if possible.
I appreciated the opportunity to provide feedback on this activity as well :)

Minor typo
At one point in mission 1, it asks you to click "Edit" while pointing to "Edit source" - the latter of which is the intended link. Test account (For use in trying out the new user experience) (talk) 09:37, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Couple points in mission 2 where you can hit "Save" on the talk page before hitting the forward arrow, which leads to a state that's not exactly intuitive to get out from - it won't register you saving a page if there's not a change made, so you have to dummy edit. An "I already did!" option to advance past this might help. Test account (For use in trying out the new user experience) (talk) 09:47, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for TWA!
I have a couple questions: Does it clean up after itself once the tutorial is completed, for example, removing the pages it created like example/TWA, example/TWA/Earth etc? Or should I request them to be removed myself?
The second question is, how are we supposed to treat the "talk" pages - should editors delete the conversations once they are finished, or must we keep them intact even if they are not relevant anymore?
All the best. --FomenPeasant (talk) 18:59, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the adventure, it made Wikipedia seem less daunting.
There was a little glitch that confused me at first. After I answered each question correctly, the "Challenge yourself BELOW..." box did not disappear.
You've got a list of "Key pages covered in the Adventure" but it would be nice if, at the end of the adventure, there was a complete summary of all the things taught. That would assist long-term retention of our learning.
I don't think that more levels should be added, because the adventure becomes quite tedious after a while (I was glad it ended when it did). But there definitely needs to be a path forward, bridging the gap between these very simple activities and Wikipedia's numerous complicated policies. Perhaps after Wikipedians complete all seven levels, they can "graduate" to another tutorial that is more advanced with a little less guidance. 102 at 1625 (talk) 14:18, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

- What I liked
The emphasis on adding and improving with less focus on policy and rules. It brings Wikipedia back to its roots of building a free encyclopedia containing all the world's knowledge. I think this is better for new users and hopefully they won't get bitten when they try to edit for real.
- What I didn't like
I have a list of things that I think can be improved upon, as a non-new editor I can see some mistakes that I think we should correct, I'm going to contact the project directly and I have to try to remember everything now. One of the biggest issues was the box randomly disappearing. Hitting the browser back button didn't make it reappear, and when I clicked TWA tab it said I was at the start of the mission again. I managed to find my way back without having to start over but I doubt very much a brand new person would be able to do that.
- What I wanted more of
Real editing advice, such as the use of show preview and direction to try the sandbox.
- What was unnecessary
Asking that you repeat the same action over and over, such as doing ~7 section headings and same for inserting pictures, with the exact same steps. It makes Wikipedia seem tedious and surely people have figured it out after the first few. Also we weren't able to see the article with the added pictures! So new editors don't get to see the connection as strongly of how tedious work is worth it for the end result.
- Any other thoughts you want to share
Excellent idea, could use some improvements but definitely a great option that needs to be shared more often with new editors.

- What I liked
The positive, constructive attitude. Actually performing the actions described. Hearing a bit - but not too much - about the rationale. Wide range of topics included. Attention paid to user and talk pages, which I for one didn't really look into before.
- What I didn't like
Not seeing anything about the sources described - we judged some as reliable without knowing them or looking them up. The pictures did not seem relevant to the sections the instructions said to add them to. Copying things from the talk page to the article felt a little forced - maybe a more natural example would be copying a relevant section from an existing article about a related subject?
- What I wanted more of
How to decide what is relevant to an article? What changes should be discussed before doing them (if any)? What is good etiquette to put on someone's talk page (if anything)? Is there any way to match my interests, skills, and knowledge to what needs improvement? What about an international pint of view? Which other tags should I be aware of, and when should I use them? I know that not all of this can fit in one Adventure, galactic as it may be.
- What was unnecessary
Repeated copying from the talk page to the main.
- Any other thoughts you want to share

"All hail NPOV" -- the wording around the NPOV mission was a bit... imperial? I know Wikipedia values neutrality, but the tone of that particular section was not neutral!
- What I wanted more of
Information on where to go to get more details about Wikipedia's formatting--I know I've seen help pages about this before, but it would be nice if they were linked from here.
- What was unnecessary
Excessive copy/pasting, particularly around image insertion. One image would do. Maybe two.
- Any other thoughts you want to share
Isn't the raw referencing done in this tutorial with ref tags discouraged? I have seen people "fixing" them with bots to be in this format:
<ref>{{cite}}</ref>
Which is available from the drop-down menu on the toolbar.

And do I start over if I log out?
--Pachisu124 (talk) 21:40, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, Pachisu124! To stop the popup messages, just click the [x] in the corner. This does mean you lose your place, however you can rejoin at any mission by using the navigation menu. So if you stopped mid-way through mission 3, you can just start over mission 3. If you pay close attention to the url you were at, you can even start over at the exact step you were at in mission 3, for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:TWA/3/Start?tour=twa3&step=11. Sorry the game isn't smarter than this. There's no harm in duplicating a mission It won't 'break' your progress, and you can still complete the game. - What I liked
- As someone who edits Wikipedia as a hobby, I enjoyed going through this to see what's out there. It's great to have an interactive tutorial, though it's been fun to learn how to edit more or less on my own.
- What I didn't like
- I didn't like how the popups would appear in other tabs, though (1) that's probably pretty difficult to avoid, and (2) someone new is likely not editing at the same time as going through this tutorial.

- What was unnecessary
- Automatically adding badges to my userpage. I think it's neat, and I know I can just remove them. A couple of points for programming improvement/bugs: When you finish typing a suggested edit, I (by instinct) click the 'save edit' button, without clicking the blue 'next' button on the TWA narration box element. This saves it, but leads to complications with the TWA narration. (If it isn't clear what I mean, please let me know). It should be pretty easy to program in some cases to deal with this. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this problem.
During the first couple of sections, I was trying to search other Wikipedia pages at the same time to clarify things I was reading etc., and the box kept coming up in the centre of the page and distracting the view.

Tags. I don't understand them. How do you tag a wiki page as being badly referenced? Badly formatted? Bad grammar? (is this all tags are used for?)

I liked how the game itself gave me a sense of achievement. In each mission, I was taught methods that I will definitely use. I also liked the fun little character that guided me along the way. Those badges were a fun little extra, too!
- What I didn't like
I liked the full experience.
- What I wanted more of
Perhaps a lesson on file size? In the final mission (no. 7), when you are adding the images to the "Earth" article, it would be nice if there was a tutorial on the correct file sizes for articles.
- What was unnecessary
Nothing.

I've been editing with MediaWiki for a few years now, being more experienced in editing on Wikia. I'm fully aware that Wikia and Wikipedia are two different communities, but thanks to this game, I was able to learn much more about editing on Wikipedia, and now I feel brave enough to make important and more advanced edits on the website.

- What I liked
- 4 hours to do Mission 1, 2, and 3. Three times. But So Discouraged, I came back and sure enough - the 'twinkler' {my name for the tutor} came back with very wonderful suggestions "After" playing lovely music for me. I. Earned. Three. Badges. As I'm a story teller and writer - (not a journalist) I "love this place" & hope to be a good 'tightener' 'cleaner' & who knows... maybe I'll meet a translator for my books. I am encouraged. I was so scared in 2012 when I went into my "sandbox" - but the user-friendly that's here now. Wow. 10++ Really. I'm famous for saying, "No wrong things on purpose- even if I have to put my head on my knees & just breathe... " Really proud of your interaction and 'user friendly' signs posted e-v-e-r-w-h-e-r-e. Important. You're a vital resource for me- and there's nothing I'd ever do to cause harm. (If I screw up? I didn't mean to.)
- What I didn't like
- I miss Adobe graphic point & click and graphics - but... "this" as I've called you forever "My Wiki PEEPS!" - is my lifesaver so I truly intend on returning the favor - {just not a journalist] [expansive writer] [so... I'll find my place but at this 'pace' it'll be quite some time before "I write for the Real Deal."
...
- What I wanted more of
- It's been some time since I've gotten to "play" working to learn - I see deletions, I see angst, and ego... I sense war of the words - Eventually- (if I survive & grow) my goal {ultimately} would be to help quell this. Meouch.
...
- What was unnecessary
- oooooo - how would I possible know. But I will keep feeling my way through it. I have enormous admiration about your "stepped up" patrols - I'd "PDF" print "gobs" & email them to myself, just to have an article (writer's research) to pull from as the edits are subtle but falling like reign-rain. - What I liked
I like the way the game encourages the editors to keep calm and polite, even when they are frustrated from the reviewers attitude to their work.
- What I didn't like
1. The tutorial is a bit too tedious. 2. The transition between missions is ambiguous, mainly at the end of missions 3. I learn about this tutorial too late, only after I wasted much time learning the rules by trial and error.

it would be better if the tutorial is integrated in the normal editing. For example, when I edit the user page, the first option should be to do it according to the tutorial.

Feedback from Kingstevenrules
- What I liked
- I liked the learning process that TWA uses. Very nice, very effective. The Awards were a nice boost, too.
- What I didn't like
- I saw a bug on Mission 5 where the Challenge Yourself box was fixed in location on the screen. By this, I mean that the box would move as you scrolled.
- What I wanted more of
- More Missions!
- What was unnecessary
- The bugs. But, they happen, so I don't have much control over them not happening.
- Any other thoughts you want to share
- All in all, a very good game, very fun and creative. 8.5/10.
