Cleanup attempt
[edit]I've made a start at untangling this page, starting with the Film section. I hope this hasn't run afoul of anyone's prior designs. If anyone else feels like taking up the gauntlet, the principles which I was trying to apply are:
- Short lists with precise, clearly defined categories are easier to use. This is so requesters can feel confident they're putting their requests in the best place. And editors wanting to create articles can focus on a narrow area within their interest and expertise. Also, short lists are less intimidating.
- Where a request category could go more than one place in the hierarchy, put it in both places with one of them containing the list of requests and the other containing a pointer to the first. Liberal use of pointers to related categories is a good thing; i.e. the Journalist request list leads off with "See also the list of Documentary Filmmaker requests."
- Requests for articles about people should go on the Wikipedia:Requested articles/Biographies page. Unlike many of the request pages, it seems pretty well organized. And it has clear instructions and warnings about notability, which is valuable because most of the non-notable requests are self-promoting people.
I'm not saying these criteria are correct, just that's where I was aiming. I hope this is beneficial. --Joseph Hewes (talk) 09:27, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I mostly like what you're doing. However, I don't really see the point of adding in the request dates if the requester didn't add it in themselves. Wizardman 02:55, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- The only reason for adding request-dates is the hope to ultimately merge all the people-requests into the Biography page, where for some established reason request-dates are part of the proscribed format. Reasonable? --Joseph Hewes (talk) 07:02, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
I've started cleaning up some of the entries with articles already added. I'm doing the edits one at a time in case I should delete one mistakenly then it can easily be reverted individually. Orstio (talk) 18:28, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
Commercial Radio Stations
[edit]Looking for a list of commercial radio stations, I ended up here. I can usually find anything in Wiki, so I'm surprised that I could not find such a list. I'm certain that a list of Commercial Radio Stations (in the U.S. and/or elsewhere) would be useful, especially if it included the transmitter and studio locations, transmitting power, and format. --67.150.0.155 (talk) 22:11, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I just found the lists of radio stations, but it wasn't easy to find. Sorry. --67.150.127.115 (talk) 22:16, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Created Articles
[edit]Since this page is for requesting articles for creation, shouldn't the created articles be removed from the list? Akihironihongo (talk) 11:31, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- I assume the same thing. Maybe we can just remove. Jami430 (talk) 00:39, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'm as curious to know just how often article-requests made here actually do result in pages being made. --MercWithMouth (talk) 22:48, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Keep the page alive and hope for the best Retrorick wikipedia talk 12:26, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

add "Mummy Dearest" (2015 film)
[edit]Mummy Dearest is a Nigerian family comedy-drama film. The movie was a sleeper hit at the box office in Nigeria. It stars veteran actress Liz Benson and fast rising star, Daniel K. Daniel in the leading roles. Mummy Dearest celebrates mothers and emphasises on the benefits of motherly advice. It also serves a come-back movie for Liz since the scene in mid 2000s. http://www.360nobs.com/2015/07/nollywood-movie-review-mummy-dearest/

Bob Bura
[edit]I put in a request for an article on Bob Bura many months ago now, but there has not been any article started about him. How about making his name a redirect to Camberwick Green, Chigley or Trumpton?Vorbee (talk) 16:42, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
List of surviving DuMont Network shows
[edit]Hello Fellow Wikipedians,
I noticed someone requested an article, List of surviving DuMont Network shows, but there is already an article with a similar title about this, so I redirected the title to the existing article. 64222368Z260O (talk) 02:55, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
Add show “Neon Shadows A Noir Tale” (2020)
[edit]Neon Shadows A Noir Tale is an audio drama releasing in podcast format since 2020. It would be nice to see more audio fiction represented on Wikipedia. Lobsternumerous (talk) 19:17, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
Jeff Stearns deleted
[edit]Jeff Stearns was deleted in 2016, mostly on notability issues, but it is listed here as requested article. That seems a bit of a contradiction to me. I think the link should be removed from here or the article should be undeleted. Pere prlpz (talk) 10:51, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
Regarding film & TV miniseries both called "Secrets of the Universe".
[edit]1. FILM = "Secrets of the Universe" is a space documentary documentary that is playing in museums, planetariums, Imax theaters, and the like, in the USA and abroad. According to the co-producer, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, there is a trailer for the film on their YouTube channel < https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4f6f4od1ZM > where they describe it this way:
""Secrets of the Universe is a sweeping, 3D giant-screen adventure that immerses audiences in the greatest mysteries of our time – puzzles spanning from the infinitesimal to the infinite – and introduces the brilliant minds seeking to unravel them. Produced by K2 Studios in association with Perimeter Institute and the National Science Foundation, Secrets of the Universe is directed by experienced Canadian documentary filmmaker Stephen Low, and was filmed at locations including CERN's Large Hadron Collider and Perimeter Institute. It premiered in July 2019 at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. For more information about the film, including upcoming screenings near you, visit: https://secretsoftheuniversefilm.com"
2. MINISERIES = I also saw information about an 8 episode TV miniseries called "Secrets of the Universe". This is its IMDB entry, but to see the production company info, I would have to pay money. Therefore, I do not know if the film and TV show are related in any way nor when and where it first aired. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6959368/episodes/?season=1 It is also uploaded to YouTube (I have not watched it) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHEwTKEDVM0
3. NOTE
= A. There is already an article on YT called "Secrets of the Universe", but it is for a music album, not related to the film or TV show.
= B. There is an article for essays written by Isaac Asimov called "The Secret of the Universe", but that seems to be unrelated, too.
Thank you for your help, Wordreader (talk) 06:54, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
Add fictional character "Nanoha Takamachi"
[edit]I would like to see a seperate page talking about the character in question because it would be nice to see our legendary White Devil in the English Wikipedia page (non-English articles did it so I'd to see an English one) Nyanoha (talk) 19:21, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
