Epidemiology is often described as the “basic science” of public health. The course introduces the fundamentals of epidemiology including measures of morbidity and mortality, descriptive epidemiology, study designs used in analytic epidemiology, diagnostic and screening tests, and selected applications of epidemiology. Students will apply what they learn to edit and expand course-related Wikipedia articles.

Create an account and join this course page, using the enrollment link your instructor sent you. (Because of Wikipedia's technical restraints, you may receive a message that you cannot create an account. To resolve this, please try again off campus or the next day.)

This week, everyone should have a Wikipedia account.
It is essential that you log into the "Epidemiology ENPH 450 - Fall 2020" course with your username everytime you work on or complete an assignment. You will not get credit for completing the work if you are not logged in.

- Assignment - Form your group and identify an article
Form your group (1-5 students per group). Individually complete the training module below.
Identify a course-related article that has an epidemiology section or paragraph(s) suitable for improvement, or perhaps, is missing altogether.
Submit your group membership and article URL per the instructions you received in class. Be sure to indicate which team member's sandbox your team will used for drafting edits. The course instructors will review the article that you selected to be sure that it is suitable for the assignment.

It's time to move your work live - to the "mainspace."
You are strongly encouraged to move your work to the "mainspace" by Tuesday, 1 December 2020. If you encounter technical difficulties use the "Get Help" button at the top of the Wiki course page, contact the Wiki Ed staff, or make an appointment with Ms. LaValle per the project guidelines.
The absolute final deadline for moving your work to the "mainspace" is Thursday, 3 December 2020, 9:30 AM. This is the version that will be evaluated. Any additional changes will not be considered for the purpose of this Wikipedia assignment.
