Society stubs - as a Top-level stub category

I have been going through the available Category:Top-level stub categories and there are some of them that could maybe fit into a new Category:Society stubs (after all, there is indeed a Category:Society which happens to be among the Category:Main topic classifications). Apart from this, the Category:Society stubs might include Category:Social science stubs, Category:Communication stubs, Category:Women's history stubs, etc. What do you say? Regards, --Fadesga (talk) 19:27, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support. Makes sense. Might be able to create other top-level stub categories from the main topic classifications as well, either here or in future proposals. – Liveste (talk • edits) 06:06, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
UK footballer biography stubs

The result of the debate was create parent cat only as British football biography stubs.
Surprised this doesn't exist yet, since several articles already exist that would fit under such a stub category. This would be populated by said articles that are not in a stub category or already in Category:Association football biography stubs and/or Category:British sportspeople stubs. The template could be {{UK-footy-bio-stub}} or something similar. Kirbanzo (userpage - talk - contribs) 18:52, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- Neutral. I have already thought over the same matter. The point is: there are no "UK association footballers", as soccer in the UK has always been divided into four: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. That's why. --Fadesga (talk) 19:30, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose A quick check of Category:European football biography stubs shows that we already have
{{England-footy-bio-stub}}
,{{NorthernIreland-footy-bio-stub}}
,{{Scotland-footy-bio-stub}}
and{{Wales-footy-bio-stub}}
. Notable football players who are British by nationality are registered with one or another of the four national associations. Since there are no players registered with more than one national association, there can be no need for an umbrella UK category. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:11, 24 September 2019 (UTC) Weak supportI realise that constituent countries all have their own separate stub categories, and that all notable registered players would be registered with these constituent countries. But I still think it would be useful as a container category, and as a way of directing people from Category:British sportspeople stubs. The latter category also contains Category:British rugby league biography stubs and Category:British rugby union biography stubs, for which the constituent countries also have separate categories. There's also the Great Britain Olympic football team and Great Britain national rugby sevens team, in addition to constituent national representative teams. – Liveste (talk • edits) 06:06, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
- Changed to support parent category only per Grutness below, and to get this resolved. – Liveste (talk • edits) 01:04, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
- Support parent-only category for the individual national subtypes, but oppose template, which is unnecessary given that templates for each separate footballing nation already exist. Grutness...wha? 10:48, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Support parent cat per Grutness. Her Pegship (really?) 16:40, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

This will be the stub category for the newly launched Wikipedia:WikiProject Climate change to support the project's article improvement efforts. With over 1,600 total articles in scope, I am sure there are at least 30 stubs. UnitedStatesian (talk) 14:02, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support creation of Category:Climate change stubs. There's already a {{climate-change-stub}} template (created July 2017, no discussion) that's only used in a few articles. However there are almost 400 pages in Category:Stub-Class Climate change articles, so there shouldn't be a problem with the number of articles (barring some mass miscategorisation). – Liveste (talk • edits) 00:44, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

American blues musician stubs

There are 650+ articles in Category:American musician stubs, and this is an obvious non-inclusion, with potential splits down the line if necessary. Gnomingstuff (talk) 18:17, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support creation of category and template. PetScan shows over 100 potential articles, though only 28 of them are in Category:American musician stubs itself. BTW, what did you mean by "non-inclusion" and what would be split down the line? – Liveste (talk • edits) 12:11, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
- Just that we currently don't have that category, where it seems like an obvious one to add (and one of the more actually useful stub categories). Potential splits down the line would be similar to what we have for jazz musicians -- blues singers, guitarists, etc. -- if the category ends up getting large. Ethnic group stubs

Not sure if this qualifies as speedy (S2). Category:Ethnic group stubs is split by continent for Africa, Asia, Europe and South America, but not currently for North America and Oceania. So I propose creation of the following:
- Category:North American ethnic group stubs / {{NorthAm-ethno-group-stub}}
- This would include the subcats Category:Asian American stubs, Category:African American stubs, Category:Indigenous peoples of North America and Category:Latino stubs (this last category is apparently for US citizens/residents of Latin American descent)
- Category:Oceanian ethnic group stubs / {{Oceania-ethno-group-stub}}
- This would include Category:Indigenous peoples of Australia stubs and Category:Māori stubs
These new categories could also be populated by articles currently in Ethnic group stubs. Cheers. – Liveste (talk • edits) 01:18, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
