Wikipedia:WikiProject South Africa/Wikipedia Primary School/Criteria

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please bear these criteria in mind when creating (or reviewing) an article for this project. You'll notice some of them are quite familiar — they are indeed the key concepts of processes like creating a Featured Article; others are tailored on the peculiarity of this project.

  • The summary must be a complete and thorough introduction to the topic and it should be as concise as possible (bear in mind that the target audience might need to access it via mobile phone, sometimes even via text message - see this article for context);
  • The article must be complete, not a mere draft, not too heavy, and its content must correspond to its title;
  • The article must be understandable at a high school level, with an easy-to-navigate structure: it must be well-written (its prose should be engaging, even brilliant, and of a professional standard), comprehensive (it must neglect no major facts or details and must place the subject in context), well-researched (it is a thorough and representative survey of the relevant literature - claims must be verifiable against high-quality reliable sources and must be supported by inline citations where appropriate), and neutral (it must present views fairly and without bias);
  • If applicable, the article must feature examples from all over the world (no localisms);
