This page describes the current state of how the operas of W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan — those they wrote together, as well as those they wrote with other collaborators — are categorized. Feel free to propose any changes on the talk page. It may also be helpful to put a note on the project talk page, to get the attention of editors who may not have this page on their watch list.

Following the guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera#Categories, all of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas are categorized as follows:

The operas that Arthur Sullivan wrote with other librettists, except for Ivanhoe, are categorized as follows:

Ivanhoe is not in Category:English comic operas, but otherwise it is categorized like any other Sullivan opera.
