- Template:W3C-valid (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Still no transclusions five years after the previous TFD closed as "no consensus" with only two contributors to the discussion. Clicking on the image takes you to an external web site, which is a bit of WP:EGG violation, IMO. This functionality would be better implemented as a gadget or script or an external page that people could link to, like the copyvio tool. – Jonesey95 (talk) 21:34, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- Template:Documentation/template page (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Unused subtemplates of {{documentation}}. The first two colour tables seem to be identical, not edited substantially since 2014, and slightly outdated (e.g. header underline colour is wrong). Ruler subtemplate is not part of how documentation is done on this wiki, it should be removed if template doc pages are imported from other languages. The rest look like they just used to be used by {{documentation}} and now aren't. User:GKFXtalk 20:01, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment. Template:Documentation/ruler (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages) is not there to be part of English Wikipedia's standard documentation; it's there to prevent red link errors on importing templates from other Wikis... as it says on the template page. So if we delete it, someone will have to go around sorting those red links out manually instead of it being automated. Bermicourt (talk) 21:05, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- I think that any documentation page being imported requires review (if not translation from another language) and removing a few red links would be the easiest part of that. If anything, the red link would be a helpful reminder to get rid of the line. User:GKFXtalk 17:38, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

Undocumented template to assist with synchronizing sandboxes with the the live template. I think the idea is you type {{subst:documentation/sync}} in the sandbox and save it, but it is quicker to type {{subst:msgnw:../}} and achieve the same thing without a template (or just copy-paste). Being a selected article for a small portal (789 page views in the last 30 days) is a very meaningless feat, and yet the banner is placed at the top of a talk page and is larger than most other banners. Gonnym (talk) 11:34, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Keep Harmless enough. Could trim image to 25px to shrink banner. Portal:London transport/Selected articles/66 was created as late as 2020. However the use of the banner seems to have been abandoned earlier. Nigej (talk) 14:38, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- It actually contributes to Banner blindness as it adds to the already bloated top of talk pages. So not completely harmless. Gonnym (talk) 19:43, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Personally I'm less fussed about that in talk pages, since hardly anyone looks at them anyway. 100% agree the principle though, We're blighted by pointless hatnotes that everyone ignores. Nigej (talk) 20:10, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- How is this not a template? It's designed as a template with parameters and it is used as a template by transcluding it. It's also used in mainspace talk, making it not a project sub-page. The only difference is the incorrect namespace used. Gonnym (talk) 00:07, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- It's not a template because it's not in the template namespace. It is my position that TfD should only be used to discuss pages in the template and module namespaces. * Pppery * it has begun... 23:14, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

- Delete. Not useful, and I agree with the banner blindness concerns. The procedural issue, in my opinion, should be ignored. It looks like a template and quacks like a template. This should have been a normal discussion message instead of a banner. Since this process seems to be dead (last active at 2010), I propose to remove completely from talk page and then delete. Gonnym (talk) 11:29, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Delete Relates to being "a candidate to become a showcase article" for Portal:London, abandoned in 2010. Suggest that those articles that actually were showcase articles (see Portal:London/Articles) eg Talk:Chelsea F.C., have it replaced with the correct template ie {{Pl-sa}} and those that never were showcase articles eg Talk:Bruce Castle have it removed from their talk page, since simply being "a candidate to become a showcase article" is surely completely unimportant. Nigej (talk) 13:24, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I've switched talk pages over to {{Pl-sa}} if the article actually was a showcase article. The remaining ones weren't, they were just a candidate to become one. Nigej (talk) 17:49, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- Delete It's unused because we don't have any seasons for Div II. {{Infobox NCAA Division I men's basketball season}} is well used, eg in 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. If someone did create the 2021–22 NCAA Division II men's basketball season article, the existing Div I infobox should be modified to handle Div II rather than creating a new template with all the Is replaced by II. - Keep for now. We have a merger proposal (from July 2021) for this, see Template talk:Infobox Indian state legislative assembly constituency, which needs resolving first. Nigej (talk) 10:07, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Removing the tag. Gonnym (talk) 10:48, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- Delete as unused, although perhaps it's content needs to be considered as part of the merge noted above. Nigej (talk) 10:09, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- Template:Infobox Philippine legislative districts (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Unused infobox. Gonnym (talk) 00:03, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Delete Unused. Probably unfinished. Currently basically a copy of {{Infobox constituency}} with the word "constituency" changed to "legislative district" so there's no sense in keeping it. If there is a requirement for these words, the constituency infobox needs modifying, we don't need new ones all the time. Nigej (talk) 10:29, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- Template:Infobox England and Wales electoral division (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Unused infobox. Gonnym (talk) 00:02, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Delete Seems to relate to "wards", ie individual electoral areas for local government. Generally we don't have article for these, see List of electoral wards in England by constituency. Nigej (talk) 10:48, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment User created {{Infobox England and Wales ward}} for the ward level, so perhaps the one being discussed is intended to be a generic version. Nigej (talk) 12:54, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
