- Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about people. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning people will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. Note: article was speedily deleted (by me) under WP:CSD#A7 but the author re-created it anyway. I have re-tagged it with G11 (unambiguous promotion) as well as A7 (some claims of significance but the promotional fluff makes them non-credible). Cam Banks
reasoning -AusJeb (talk) 15:44, 2 January 2014 (UTC) Please undelete the page for Cam Banks. This page is for a published author and game designer. Links were provided to pages for his published works on Wikipedia.
- Note that if the article is restored, or moved to User: or Draft: space, I have a source to add a little bit of information for him. BOZ (talk) 18:52, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
- Also the speedy deletion was under wp:A7. Links to multiple works with independent reviews (and awards) is not just a claim to importance, but one of notability under wp:AUTHOR, making wp:A7 inappropriate. Neonchameleon (talk) 13:03, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- Done. The article as deleted said nothing about awards - only that he had worked on various games and written a novel. The only references were his self-profile on Goodreads and his employer's blog, which didn't mention him. That is far short of WP:AUTHOR and, in my view, a proper A7 deletion. However, since several people are interested in improving the article, I have restored it to the new Draft namespace at Draft:Cam Banks, where you can work on it and add references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." This page shouldn't be deleted because we are writing about a real religion and I'm feeling offended when you delete it like our religion is fake! i wasn't done with the page when you deleted it i just saved it because i wanted to see how it looked for other people, I'm going to add that it is a religion and more, when I'm done with the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coyoteism (talk • contribs)
- Not done - Wikipedia isn't for things you've made up. Acroterion (talk) 04:46, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Since the article creator asserts this is a real religion it may or may not fall under WP:NOTMADEUP -- unable to see the article I have no way of knowing. However, in the spirit of WP:DONTBITE I will offer to the user that his/her personal involvement in the religion ("...our religion...") makes his/her creation of this article problematic due to a personal conflict of interest (see WP:COI). I strongly suggest the user request assistance for creating this article from the Article for Creation team, BUT ONLY AFTER CAREFULLY STUDYING the fundamentals of article creation (see WP:Simpleintro and WP:YFA). There is no guarantee that the article can be created, especially if reliable sources cannot be provided, but if the user fails to study and understand "the basics" then his/her article will definitely not get created at all. Steel Core
Page was deleted with the nominator and ONE PERSON voting. The one person voting suggested that the page be moved to the Transformers wiki, but the article is not about a Transformers character, so I doubt he read or understood the article. The creator of the page was not notified of the proposed deletion, which is usually standard procedure. -Mathewignash (talk) 20:31, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Comment - This article was deleted at AfD, and as such, may not be restored here.
Consider taking the article to deletion review, but please consult with the deleting administrator first before doing so.hmssolent\You rang? ship's log 02:13, 5 January 2014 (UTC)- Comment - The opening sentence of this page read: "Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages... in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator." - As stated the nominator and one person (who didn't even know what the article was about!) were the only people in the AFD, and the nominator didn't follow proper procedure in notifying the article creator that the article was up for deletion. The nominator has even been warned to notify the creator of articles when he AFDs them, it's on his talk page. The failure to follow proper procedure, and lack of any real feedback on the AFD clearly negates the AFDs validity. I believe it can be undeleted here for these reasons. Mathewignash (talk) 03:15, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- Good point - truly forgot 'bout that, sorry (I've been accustomed to seeing AFD'ed articles getting thrown about to DRV that I didn't realise REFUND applied to discussions with participations that only derived from one other participant). Still, having looked at the subject on a G-search, there are relatively few hits regarding the subject. If you can point to a number of reliable sources containing significant coverage of the subject, this may give cause for undeletion. hmssolent\You rang? ship's log 10:13, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- That can be easily overlooked, and can also be easily discarded when one reviews the "caliber" of those involved in the discussion. I can understand userfication here, but not undeletion into articlespace ES&L 12:23, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- The circumstances of this AFD CLEARLY put it within the range of an undeletion request. I'd prefer the article get undeleted, and if the nominator wishes to have a PROPER deletion nomination, let it be his burden to prove it's not a worthy article. The article itself has sources from a half dozen toy news podcasts, and several stories cited from toy new web sites which have been deemed as reliable in other AFDs, like Entertainment News International. Mathewignash (talk) 16:02, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, in your opinion. Now, with the arguments you're placing, you've just pushed yourself into DRV mode. Good luck there. Cheers ES&L 16:29, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- If you doubt notability by reliable third party sources, perhaps you should read Transforming Collections by Philip Reed, who is the editor for Steve Jackson Games, who devoted two pages of his book to Steel Core.Mathewignash (talk) 16:33, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- Two points:
- Matthew, you wrote above "the article is not about a Transformers character, so I doubt he read or understood the article", but the article itself said "Steel Core is an original third party Transformer character"
- The first port of call if you disagree with the outcome of an AfD should always be the closing admin, in this case Mark Arsten (talk). Have you consulted him? I suggest you ask him if he is willing to userfy the article for you to work on.
- JohnCD (talk) 17:18, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- I came here because the circumstance followed exactly what was stated in the opening sentence of this page. I will edit the page to be more accurate than calling it a "third part Transformer" once it's restored. Mathewignash (talk) 17:32, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Please undelete the page so I can revisit my research and solve the issues related to citing the material. However, I believe you need to reconsider allowing me to use the Guggenheim as a source for it's fellowship recipients. It is a world renown institution that houses fine art and awards fellowships every year in multiple categories. I would have used the already existing Wikipedia page, "List of Guggenheim Fellowships awarded in 1974" for an already published source, but when you click the hyperlink to Jim Dow, it brings you to another Jim Dow, who was not a photographer, and died two years before the award was given. Please understand, I am trying to be completely accurate. This man deserves a complete page, for he is an incredibly inspirational exhibiting artist who is the forefront of hybrid photographic methods. Please help me with this. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 04:56, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Salvidrim!: If you had read the discussion you will have seen I was not part of that. You might call tht a discussion, but to discuss without any input from the original author seems not to be a discussion at all. I want to take part in it now as I was not informed at the time either of the discussion nor of the impending deletion. I have not logged in to Wikipedia in over six years. Sa cooke (talk) 05:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- I understand, however, Wikipedia articles don't have authors. You may have initially created the page but it was available to be worked on by everyone, and other users contributed to the article prior to its deletion; for this reason, there is no requirement for an AfD discussion to involve any of the contributors to the article being discussed, and the page creator is as often involved in the discussion as he is not. At the present time, the community's consensus (as it emerged from the discussion linked above) is that there should not be an article on this topic, and this Requests for undeletion page specifically cannot go against the community's consensus and restore pages deleted following a discussion. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 05:07, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- In any case, it consisted entirely of an infobox and a track listing, without a single reference, so there is really no significant content to be restored. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 05:10, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Salvidrim!: Understood; however, how can I tell who deleted the article? it's deleted, along with the talk page. And don't tell me it's Cirt, as he is no longer an admin. And why is that not significant content? I don't want to waste my time typing content again when it's within your (or another admin's) power to restore. Sa cooke (talk) 05:15, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Cirt was indeed the one who closed the AfD and deleted the article, and he indeed isn't an administrator anymore. I agree that you should not waste your time typing the same content again, because your recreation of the article would make it elegible for speedy deletion under criterion G4, which covers the recreation of material against the previously established community's consensus. If you disagree with the consensus that emerged from the discussion linked above, which demonstrates the community's belief that the subject of the article is not notable, then you need to submit it for deletion review, saying why you believe the consensus is incorrect. The only other option for you is to create a new article, supported by significant coverage in reliable, independent sources in order to demonstrate its notability. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 05:21, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Belligerence, sarcasm, and rudeness is not needed thank you very much. You need to consider what you say to people buddy. And how that might be interpreted. Ok, I'll take the issue up elsewhere as you suggest. The article will be restored, and I will then have the opportunity to expand it. Sa cooke (talk) 05:25, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- I... I frankly have no idea what to reply. I've started to type 3 replies and deleted them while blankly gaping at my monitor. If you genuinely think my above reply was belligerent, sarcastic and rude, you're in for quite a surprise in your future Wikipedia communications. Good luck! ;) ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 05:30, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sa cooke, I don't think Salvidrim!'s reply was rude. He/she clearly pointed out the two possible paths: (1) write a new, differently worded article, and (2) ask for a review of the deletion, pointing out new sources of information that may change the consensus. This reply may have saved you from wasting your time with another approach, so it was actually helpful, and I hope that you will reinterpret. —Anne Delong (talk) 16:31, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi! I note that the article I was watching, 'Dolma Lhakang' () was speedily deleted. I believe that it shouldn't have been, but that is just my personal opinion. Since the deletion, further references have come up. I would be grateful if there was some way of 'restoring' this article to my own namespace (so it doesn't appear in Wikipedia), so that I can update the content and make it worth of Wikipedia inclusion. Please let me know how I should go about this, and if there is any more information I should give. Thank you (and Happy New Year!) :) ). Buckethed (talk) 06:26, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

- Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Anchor Managed Hosting · ( logs | links | watch ) · [revisions]
Admin executing the CSD cites unambigous advertising or promotion as their reasion for deletion. It has been the custom to give more leeway in the Articles for creation space with respect to G11 and to only use that method when the submission is hopelessly advertising and to a much higher standard than the main article namespace. Admin who deleted the page is retired and is in a potential catch-22 situation currently. They can't use their admin privileges because they were accused of misusing them, but to not use them denies a anonymous editor the privilege of an appeal and time to improve the submission (User_talk:Kafziel#Information_regarding_deleted_page_-_Anchor_Managed_Hosting). I request that either the page be restored to it's original location so that the anonymous editor can work on improving the article or a explanation of how bad the advertising/spam is on the draft. -Hasteur (talk) 00:02, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

- I agree that this is not bad enough to qualify for speedy deletion from AfC space, but it is not an acceptable article: is very clearly the company using Wikipedia to "tell the world" about itself and its services: "their US support team allow them to provide 24x7 support... provides a range of services including... Anchor's infrastructure is highly scalable... a complete hands off solution... " etc.
- I have advised the author, user Anchorsystems (talk), to change username (not that an individual username will remove the clear conflict of interest here), and suggest following the excellent advice of a very experienced Wikipedian at User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing about subjects close to you:
"When writing about subjects that are close to you, don't use your own personal knowledge of the subject, and don't cite yourself, your web site, or the subject's web site. Instead, use what is written about the subject by other people, independently, as your sources. Cite those sources in your very first edit. If you don't have such sources, don't write."
