[edit]May there be any connection between, absence of base system device driver on my laptop, and its overheating followed by shutting down sometimes?

- Yes. I'm simplifying but in the old days thermal protection was controlled directly from the BIOS. Nowadays it's done by ACPI. If the OEM driver is missing the fans won't kick in when they should and the hardware may shut itself down (in an uncontrolled manner) to protect itself.
