Wikipedia:Naming conventions (cuisines)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cuisines

[edit]

Articles on cuisines of certain countries, geographical regions, cultures, elasticities, time periods, etc. are to use the formula XXX cuisine; hence European cuisine, vegetarian cuisine, Mexican cuisine, Byzantine cuisine. Exceptions are to be made when the adjective is too ambiguous, such as "American cuisine"; in these cases cuisine of the United States is preferable. A cuisine history article about a cuisine that still exists today, such as Hawaiian cuisine or Jewish cuisine should be history of Hawaiian cuisine or history of Jewish cuisine respectively.

Styles of food, drink, etc

[edit]

Sub-articles of main cuisine articles, such as articles on beverages, follow the same naming structure as their parent article.

Unified naming structure example:

Standards on beer related articles have not been established and contributors can use either format.
