Chicago Wikipedia Day Meetup 2025

Let's celebrate Wikipedia Day!

Location: Bucktown-Wicker Park Library (Meeting Room)

Time: Sunday, January 19th, 1:30-4pm

About: We'll discuss editing, birthdays, mortality, and the joys of free information for all. There will be games, coffee, cake, and possibly other things as well. Prepare to win a variety of fabulous prizes.

Also User:Nick Number has offered to do a short talk on translating pages! (Let me know if you're still up for this)

Transit info: The library is accessible via the 50, 72, and 56 bus lines and is walkable from the Damen Blue Line stop. There is also a small parking lot available at the library, although it can sometimes be busy on weekends so I can't guarantee there will be a spot.

Once at the library, the meeting room is on the second floor, with the sign marked "Community Room." The second floor is accessible through the stairs or elevator.

Bring: Laptop optional, bring food or drinks to share if desired (please clearly mark any common allergens like nuts or soy). Coffee, cake, and plates/napkins (etc) will be provided.

Update: Turnout has been quite a bit higher than expected so I encourage bringing something to share! Please note that the capacity limit of this meeting space is 50. Signups on the waitlist after the 50 person limit can check closer to the day of the event for cancellations, etc. For those who are interested in attending future Wikipedia events, I recommend adding yourself to this list so you can be notified about upcoming events!

Additionally, attendees are subject to our code of conduct, which just so happens to be exactly the same as Wikipedians of NYC.
