Wikipedia:Meetup/Boston/How to Run an Edit-a-thon/Adrianne Wadewitz Memorial Edit-a-thon
Appearance
Have you ever wanted to host a Wikipedia editing event, but felt stuck because you don't know how to get one going? On June 25, the New England Wikimedians will host an hourlong informational session on how to run a Wikipedia edit-a-thon, followed by an evening of editing articles focused on women's history and cultural issues. The latter portion of this event will be held in memory of noted Wikipeidan Adrianne Wadewitz, who passed away in April. This is one of about a dozen such events being held in North America this spring.

- Margo Burns, a.k.a. Ogram (talk) 21:13, 29 May 2014 (UTC) - I will be coming tonight to work on the Salem witch trials and related articles about the prosecution of women for witchcraft in colonial New England. I will be bringing a crate from my personal library with over 30 secondary sources with me. My goal this summer is to get this article firmly into GA status. I welcome any and all help on this! - Reify-tech (talk) 16:34, 2 June 2014 (UTC) Without a clear address and room number, I am unlikely to spend time searching for this at Harvard Law School. Reify-tech (talk) 17:27, 22 June 2014 (UTC) Hi @Reify-tech. Apologies if that wasn't clear from the web link I provided. I've now added the address and room. Hope to see you there. Girona7 (talk) 19:11, 23 June 2014 (UTC) Thank you! Now that I know where it is, I'm much more likely to show up. Reify-tech (talk) 19:31, 23 June 2014 (UTC)

- Shii (tock) Hoping we can use a library as location, in order to improve articles? // Hi @Shii. We won't have a library, but you can still source plenty of materials and make page improvements using online sources. Hope to see you there. Girona7 (talk) 19:11, 23 June 2014 (UTC)

- Questions:
- Will there be computers there I can use? I don't have a laptop to bring. Lentower (talk) 17:16, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- We can't guarantee that there would be an extra laptop, I'm afraid. Girona7 (talk) 19:11, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- OK to work on other areas of Wikipedia? Lentower (talk) 17:16, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Unable to attend, but wish to be informed about future meetups
