[edit]Band name error
[edit]Hello-
When you do a search for the band Mista on Bing, the Wikipedia page shows band the name as "Moist" which is incorrect. At first I thought it was some sort of prank, but there is actually another band named Moist. But please correct the name to Mista for the 4 membered band.

- Wikipedia has articles on both Mista (band) and Moist (band). I can't see any obvious issues with the name of either, though Mista (band) could do with more sources. If Bing is getting the two bands confused, you need to raise it with them - we have no control over what external search engines do. AndyTheGrump (talk) 02:13, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- The text paragraph followed by "Wikipedia" is taken from Wikipedia. The heading "Moist" is added by Bing, probably based on some non-public search algorithm. Below the Bing box there is a link "Suggest an edit". Suggestions go to Bing, not Wikipedia. We have no control over Bing. Our article Mista (band) does not mention Moist. Afrikaans
[edit]What does the word Hygrocybe and Comosopolitain mean ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.116.89.7 (talk) 04:08, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- As it says at the top of this page, this is a place to questions about how to use or edit Wikipedia. Or more specifically, the English-language Wikipedia. If you want to ask questions about Afrikaans, you are in entirely the wrong place. Though I suspect that if you were in the right one, you'd be told (in Afrikaans) to use a search engine, and/or check your spelling. AndyTheGrump (talk) 04:19, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- You could also look up these words in Wikipedia, at Hygrocybe and Cosmopolitan.--Shantavira|feed me 08:27, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Neither word is actually Afrikaans. "Hygrocybe" is scientific latin, it's a fungus genus. "Cosmopolitan" in Afrikaans is "kosmopolitaans". Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:30, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
Revolving Doors
[edit]Hi, I work for the organisation Revolving Doors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolving_Doors_Agency - they recently changed their name from Revolving Doors Agency to Revolving Doors, I've been trying to edit their wiki page to reflect this but I don't seem to have the 'move' button. Would anyone be able to do this for me? Many thanks, Axelle — Preceding unsigned comment added by Axcho (talk • contribs) 08:30, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Axcho, that's because WP:AUTOCONFIRM. You can't have Revolving Doors, it's "taken", I think per WP-logic Revolving Doors (charity) is the way to go. It seems uncontroversial to me, and I can make the change in you like. However, consider the guidance at WP:COI, the article shouldn't be written from the perspective of your org (I'm not saying it is, I haven't checked). Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:18, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there, Revolving Doors (charity) sounds good - so yes if you could update it from your end that would be much appreciated!
- I haven't changed anything about the article itself, it's really just about the name - but I'm using a personal wiki account with my personal email address so hope that's ok? Axcho (talk) 11:11, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Axcho Done. Yes, that's fine. It is recommended that you write something like "I work for Revolving Doors (charity)" and I'm aware of the Conflict of interest guideline." on your userpage. Just click the redlinked Axcho in your signature above, type, and publish. Per WP-rules you can't have the name of an org as username, but something like "Kim at Revolving Doors" is fine, and your username is fine too (afaict). How do I add to an article
[edit]My Mum was awarded the Benemerenti medal by Pope Francis I would like to add her name to the list of Irish recipients — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kellygracemary (talk • contribs) 08:30, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Kellygracemary, welcome to WP! List of Benemerenti medal recipients (I'm assuming you meant this article) is in a pretty sad shape (not enough references), but I may be able/willing to help you. Do you have a source (WP:RS), like a newspaper article or something on an official church website, that says she was awarded this medal? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:01, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
I do have an article but it won't attach for me via clipboard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kellygracemary (talk • contribs) 09:28, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Kellygracemary:, if you can give us a link to this article, we can help. Also, when typing comments on discussion pages, you can sign your comments using 4 tildes (
~~~~
) so we can follow discussions easier. Happy Editing--IAmChaos 09:33, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
I can't attach a link for some reason so ill just type the article if you can Google it please — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kellygracemary (talk • contribs) 10:06, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Kellygracemary, thanks, I added her:[1]. Since the source didn't speak clearly on why she got the award, I wrote nothing about that. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:24, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you it was for playing the organ for 75 years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kellygracemary (talk • contribs) 12:10, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
Help with a timeline
[edit]Currently creating an EasyTimeline listing members of the Politburo of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union here. However, even after reading the EasyTimeline syntax, I can't get the legend to render correctly like this one which I'm modelling it after. Am I using too many colours? Assistance requested.
