[edit]Nominating image as featured image
[edit]Hi I wondered how to nominate an image for the featured image? This image
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sainte-Beuve.jpg
is very good and is, in my opinion, the best example on Wikimedia of the Woodbury printing process. Thanks.

Phillip Wilcher
[edit]Dear Wikipedia Help Desk
I write you in reference to my page here at Wikipedia. Edits appear to be frequently made by a contributor under the name of ANTONIOROCKS. Her name is Jena and she also goes by the name of Jenbeth. If there is some way of disallowing her to edit my page here, I would be grateful if the measure could be taken.
I thank you sincerely for your time and your consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Phillip Wilcher www.phillipwilcher.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.161.22.194 (talk) 01:52, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your notice. All of our articles about a living person need to follow careful guidelines, at WP:BLP. One of our most important policies is verifiability WP:V. It appears that Jena has been in good faith doing their best to improve the page, and is unlikely to be topic banned. I am certain that this notice will bring the page Phillip Wilcher to the attention of other editors who can step in and verify the appropriateness of the content on the page. - You'll need to find a "Help" or "Contact us" link on the Wiz website. Please note that you are at Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia that anyone can edit, and this page is for asking questions related to using or contributing to Wikipedia itself. Thus, we have no special knowledge about the subject of your question. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:55, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

re: Sidney DeWayne on wikipeda
[edit]To Whom It May Concern,
There was an error on the original credits of the EMANCIPATION OF MIMI that listed the credit on "We Belong Together" to the first and middle name. Could you please change the title from Sidney DeWayne to Sid "Uncle Jamz" Johnson. Thanks in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.79.24.127 (talk) 13:20, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- You can do it yourself, or post this on Talk:The Emancipation of Mimi. —Tamfang (talk) 17:45, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Climate Disclosure Standards Board - can I put up revised page?
[edit]Dear Wikipedia editors,
Following the deletion of the page on the Climate Disclosure Standards Board, I had a conversation about the issues(the discussion started on October 28th and I can't find it on this page any more) with the uploaded text. I have revised it and did some offline crowd-sourcing to add more references and make the text more encyclopaedic. Can I have your permission to upload this new text?
All the best,
Michael
--MichaelZimonyi(CDSB) (talk) 14:34, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Please, create a draft version of it on User:MichaelZimonyi(CDSB)/Climate Disclosure Standards Board, so we can look at it. The old discussion on this board is here. Ruslik_Zero 18:51, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hello,
I have created a draft on User:MichaelZimonyi(CDSB)/Climate Disclosure Standards Board, I would really appreciate some feedback! I'm still new at formatting for wikipedia, so please point out anything that's against convention - I'd like to make sure it's right.
Thanks,
Michael

Problem with a reference
[edit]Not sure if this is the right place but I have an issue with a reference I have used. After I placed the reference in articles, the owner of the website changed the content of the page. It's not technically a dead link and the site runs a script that blocks web archive sites. How do I deal with this? Hack (talk) 14:37, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Add to the reference the date that you accessed it when it was still showing the content. See Big Shots (TV series) references as an example. RudolfRed (talk) 18:41, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- There's no equivalent of {{dead link}}? Hack (talk) 06:12, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- I need to remember to do this, but a good idea is to save the content of the web site when you use it as a source. This doesn't say how, but it does say what template to use when you do it. — Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 21:29, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- That's pretty handy but seems a lot of work. As it happens I did save the reference in PDF form. I'm just annoyed that when people click on the link, they're going to a different page to the one I originally viewed. Hack (talk) 03:56, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

[edit]List of independent radio stations
you need to add rok out radio to that page. www.rokoutradio.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.54.120.4 (talk) 15:17, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

My uploads
[edit]I uploaded these images to Wikimedia Commons:
File:Katy Perry Part of Me 2012.jpg File:Katy Perry Part of Me (2).jpg File:Katy Perry and Russell Brand.jpg File:Katy Perry with Glittery Guitar.jpg File:Katy Perry - Performing at the Fontainebleau Miami - July 2009.jpg
But when I look at "My uploads", it says I didn't upload any images at all, why is it doing that? CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:24, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps you are looking at "my uploads" (I don't know where that is) for en.wikipedia? The images were uploaded to commons. RudolfRed (talk) 22:24, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Curiously, http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles/CPGirlAJ shows nothing. —Tamfang (talk) 22:42, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- I just noticed that on the file page for each photo, it says it was uploaded by user Flickr upload bot. So, that's probably the name you have to put into the tool to see the photos. I don't know how you would change it so that it is listed under your name instead of the bot. RudolfRed (talk) 23:15, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
How to....????
[edit]Please let me know, how to add this kind of description in my image, which I uploaded???
Awaiting for your valuable reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javidr55 (talk • contribs) 21:34, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- You are actually referring to Infoboxes (not captions). Take a look at Help:Infoboxes, Help:Infobox picture and Template:Infobox for guidelines, instructions and examples. The Infobox used at Martin Luther King, Jr is Template:Infobox person, please take a look at that link. Hope this helps, Shearonink (talk) 21:48, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
