"Vampire video game" is not a proper video game genre. Video game genres are based on the gameplay of the game (i.e. roleplaying, shooter, etc), not the narrative. There is no given definition of what makes a video game a "vampire video game" and this may also fall under WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. Anarchyte (work | talk) 08:52, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

- Keep: The list has a clear definition in the lead on what should be included as a "vampire video game." While I agree that vampire video games aren't really a genre, it does have merit as a list on Wikipedia. --MorbidEntree - (Talk to me! - Comment: I also don't see how this article is in violation of WP:SYNTH. --MorbidEntree - (Talk to me! (っ◕‿◕)っ♥)(please reply using {{ping}}) 09:05, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- @MorbidEntree: I checked a few of the references (many of them are dead due to allgames being defunct) and none of them referred to the game as a "vampire game" or "vampire video game"; some said they have "vampire themes" and some say nothing at all, except mentioning that there are vampires in the game. WP:LISTCRUFT and WP:LISTN may apply. Anarchyte (work | talk) 09:16, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

- Delete as WP:INDISCRIMINATE; the article is little more than a laundry list of video games in which vampire characters feature. Additionally, Category:Vampire video games exists, and is already far more comprehensive and complete (note that INDISCRIMINATE does not apply to categories). - Retarget to Category:Vampire video games which has much more games than this list. People using this term expect to find some list of games with ghosts, and we have the category for that. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 13:54, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Not a notable gaming genre on its own. ZettaComposer (talk) 17:21, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Keep. wp:CLT explains how categories, lists, and navigation templates are complementary. Anywhere there is a category, there can be a corresponding list, basically. Here we have a well-defined, well-populated category. A list can provide redlinks indicating articles that are needed and it can provide text, use footnotes, and provide illustrations. --doncram 21:31, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
Leaning keepKeep. An article in New Statesman: "Why it sucks that there are so few vampire videogames"; an article on Gameranx: "22 Best Vampire Games of All Time"; an article from G4TV: "Our Favorite Vampire Video Games... that aren't Castlevania". Google threw up a few other bits and pieces that will be useful. Video game journalists seem to be keen to identify "vampire video games", so a list here doesn't seem unreasonable.
