No personal attacks
[edit]Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. LactoseTI 21:11, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove legitimate warnings from your talk page or replace them with offensive content. Removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted legitimate comments. Cease-fire
[edit]Not sure what the users above are talking about, but this article on the cease-fire looks like a couple of news reports stitched together, raising copyright concerns. Gazpacho 02:54, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Vandal?
[edit]Hello, Zone.
Firstly, it would behoove you to check the edit histories before you make unfounded accusations. I did not necessarily add the quote, but I did confirm that is what the citation brings, and updated the template. Secondly, as I mentioned on the talk page, my personal beliefs notwithstanding (and a quick poll of about twenty other sysops and editors will make painfully clear where my beliefs lie) at WIklipedia, we have to use verifiable and reliable sources to show both sides as accurately as possible. You would not want an article filled solely with Al-jazeera statements would you? War is ugly, and many of my relatives had to flee the North and are bunking out in Yerushalayim etc. But Tzedek, Tzedek tirdof, and trying to approach this with an even keel is the best way, IMO, to ensure that the articles remain on an even keel. Now, is there some gripe in particular you have with me? I'd be happy to discuss it with you. -- Avi 21:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- No, I live in the US, but most of my mother's family lives in Eretz Yisrael, literally MiDan ad Be'er Sheva. Are you in EY? -- Avi 02:49, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Hmm
[edit]Why have you been striking through votes in the capture-kidnap-abduct poll? For instance here [1]. ~Rangeley (talk) 17:03, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
"Vandal"? WTF?
[edit]Where the hell do you get off accusing me of "vandalism"? First of all, I don't really know to what you're referring, as you included no valid link in your accusation on my discussion page. But I can take a wild-*** guess and surmise that it's this edit. If that's the case, then you have no case for "vandalism". I was removing something that clearly didn't belong in the lead of the article. If I was wrong, so be it, but how you make the leap to "vandalism" is beyond me. Care to explain? +ILike2BeAnonymous 07:53, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Calm down
[edit]I agree with Ilike2be, you need to cut this out, accusing others, you say you want to get rid of bad administrators, i am all for it, tell me how, but you are acting like one dude.
Ailes
[edit]I’m not the most knowledgeable person on the life of Roger Ailes and I normally concentrate on historical or sci-fi articles, but I would be glad to flesh out the article to the best of my ability. I only posted something on the disccusion to pick a fight with a very angry liberal and if you look at my talk page you’ll see it. --Ian 19:23, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Official notice regarding copyright policy
[edit]I am aware that you have problems regarding the material currently in the Sean Hannity article. I take no position on the quality of the material currently in the article. Note that policy and United States law prohibit the insertion of copyright material such as the Fox News promotional biography you keep putting in the article. I will block you to prevent you from violating Wikipedia policy in this manner, so please stop inserting that material. See Wikipedia:Copyright for more information. Thank you. Gamaliel 17:50, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- You might try adding the information you feel important (in your own words) with a link to the Fox News biography as a reference verifying the facts you are adding to the article. Inclusion of the facts is fine... you just can't use someone else's copyrighted work. --CBD 12:51, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Ailes Quotes
[edit]Most bibliographical articles contain direct quotes, I would encourage you to look at some of them. I don’t believe that such a section is irrelevant… Anyway what’s with this sock puppet stuff? --Ian 21:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Manatee Migration.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Manatee Migration.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Request for a vote
[edit]Hi Zonerocks,
I noticed you've contributed to the Roger Ailes and Sean Hannity pages, so I think you may be interested in knowing that there's currently a vote going on (with a deadline, I think, in a couple of days) to delete the category page "American conservatives." If you find the subject interesting you might want to vote on it.Noroton 00:48, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
here's a very direct, unwikified link
[edit]that should get you the exact page and spot
Hi again, thanks and another request
[edit]Hi Zonerocks, Thanks much for your vote at the Category:American Conservative discussion. The votes were 2:1 in favor of keeping it. You might have an interest in an article I've just created Pre-Iraq War opinions on Saddam. It's poorly named (something I want to change) but as it stands now, it's essentially statements made about how dangerous Saddam's regime was considered before the war. The article is being proposed for deletion, but I of course think it's useful. I'd be interested to know what you think. For instance, I think a collection of statements is especially useful, and I think I've got the right parameters for the article, and I think it's useful in a number of ways, for people from different political viewpoints, but I could be wrong so I'm looking for others' opinions -- but only if you find the subject interests you.Noroton 02:01, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Impeachmentcard Johnson.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Impeachmentcard Johnson.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:08, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
links added to "Reconstruction and ..." page
[edit]That was interesting. Good article. I added links, also capitalized "Southerner" and "Northerner" because my dictionary, Webster's New World" says to do that. Some links went to history pages, such as "History of Richmond, Virginia" and "History of slavery in the United States" which you might decide would better go to nonhistory pages -- up to you.Noroton 18:54, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Banded Puffin.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Banded Puffin.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pagrashtak 03:14, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Hannity
[edit]Can you come check out the Hannity page? I think it reads better now but there should probably be more information on it and I'm not all that familiar with Hannity. With all the research I've done he seems to inflame people but I'm not sure why. I can't find any stories about him in the main stream media where he's said or done anything just items in opinion pieces. --PTR 21:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Image:Refgate.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Refgate.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —BigDT 06:00, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies
[edit]Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 23:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:Pequot1.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Pequot1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ✗plicit 11:37, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
