Tidying up of poor English

[edit]

Hi, regarding this edit: you altered 4 July 2003 to July 4, 2003 with the edit summary "Tidying up of poor English". In fact, the previous form was correct English: see WP:STRONGNAT. Thanks. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:42, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Lauda Air Flight 004 seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Fractional rig, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Boom and Spreader. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Reverse Polish notation

[edit]

That certainly was not a 'corrected' expression. --CiaPan (talk) 17:35, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you're saying - should I have said something like alternative rather than corrected? Or was it the "x" that was wrong (the "x" wasn't mine though!). I thought that the alternative expression was a better example because the brackets are required in the infix version of the expression. Thanks for putting in the correct multiple symbol. Are you happy with the latest text? Regards, Zin92 (talk) 19:21, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Soldiers of the Queen (song), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cassiopeia talk 06:23, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zing92, When you find the source then add them in along with the content but not before that as info added/changed needs to be supported by source for verification. Thank you. Cassiopeia talk 06:24, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've provided references for some of the points but not all. Are you saying that it's OK to add back in text where supported by a source but not to add back in text which still isn't supported by a source?
Thanks Zin92 (talk) 06:32, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Zin 92, Good day. You can add back the content that is supported by source now. As for the remaining unsourced content, you can add it "when" you have the source. [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Soldiers_of_the_Queen_%28song%29&oldid=prev&diff=1245129661 "HERE" was your edit, so will be easy for you to find them when you have the source. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 07:20, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remuera

[edit]

If you are from the UK why are you trying to guess what you think Remuera is like? Traumnovelle (talk) 21:58, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there.
Who says that I'm guessing what Remuera looks like? I may not live in Remuera but I must have visited it at least 20 times in the last 30 years (my sister lives there).
(The reason that I pointed out that I don't live in Remuera was that I didn't want anybody to think that I lived in Remuera and that this would cloud my judgement as to what sort of photo was suitable.)
I am not against replacing the current photo. However, I do feel that an image that more ties in with what Remuera looks like in general would be more appropriate. As per the lede, "[Remuera is] A prime example of a "leafy" suburb, Remuera is noted for its quiet tree-lined streets". I don't feel that your suggested replacement photo is representative of what Remuera looks like in general.
Regards Zin92 (talk) 22:06, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There could be a better image but one where the subject takes up less than 20% of the image (and it doesn't even show the entire suburb) is not a good choice per the example shown at MOS:IRELEV. The only other images on Commons are either old or just specific buildings, all of those admittedly are still an improvement over the current image. Traumnovelle (talk) 22:10, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I still don't see why you insist on restoring an image that is only partially of the subject. Traumnovelle (talk) 06:16, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
