Operation Mobilise moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Operation Mobilise, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Operation Mobilise. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Etymology of Kuzina
[edit]Are you sure about the etymology of the place name Kuzina which you added to the Kušuḫ article? None of the sources which discuss it in relation to the god mention this proposal, I am not convinced that we aren't dealing with a homophone here, since unless I missed something the source given does not indicate the city is meant...? Itamar Singer noted the toponym is only known from a single attestation, and this is repeated in the rather recent "A history of Hittite literacy"; the only etymological speculation I am aware of is the derivation of the god's name from the toponym, not the origin of the toponym itself. I will pull up the source shortly Zagreus99 (talk) 19:13, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
https://imgur.com/a/g8eKb0Q I have this image, Google should pull up the source. Currently a bit busy Zagreus99 (talk) 19:15, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
It seems pretty conclusive based on Semitic cognates. Zagreus99 (talk) 19:44, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
Where is the evidence Kuzina is a toponym? Zagreus99 (talk) 19:47, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- I think you misunderstood the question entirely. I'm asking why you added a completely unrelated etymology to the place name Kuzina in that article. Kuzina in the texts discussed there is demonstrably not a term for a chariot, but for a cult center of a deity, listed alongside well known place names. There are now multiple sources listed in the article. HaniwaEnthusiast (talk) 13:06, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2022 FIFA World Cup, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Greatest of All Time. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

April 2024
[edit]Hello, I'm Sadustu Tau. I noticed that you recently removed content from Solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sadustu Tau (talk) 17:10, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
- It is simply that most sources called it the Great American Eclipse. Only a few call it fully the Great North American Eclipse. Zagreus99 (talk) 21:36, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for contributing to the article Nathan Mayer Rothschild. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). If you need further help, you can look at Help:Menu/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse, or just ask me. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 11:37, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
Contentious topic alert for the area of the Arab Israeli conflict
[edit]Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
