MfD

[edit]

Hi Xoloz. I'll call by MfD a little later on. I even have a social life this evening, so I may be a little later than I currently expect. I might also ask AllyUnion if she could have her bot add MfD pages to AfD/Old so that they get some exposure. -Splashtalk 14:57, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, nearly all of them were closed, apart from a few that I finished off. I have lopped them off of the the MfD page. We don't appear to have an archive of MfD debates (apart from on talk pages), so I've checked with Radiant!, who had closed most of them, if he's been putting them someplace other than the standard AfD archive. -Splashtalk 22:04, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have addressed your concerns as best as possible. Let me know if you will now change your mind about deleting my personal subpage User:JuanMuslim/Wikipedia Boycott Campaign. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you.--JuanMuslim 1m 06:15, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

[edit]

Now that my RfA is fully and officially completed, I want to thank you for your support. I appreciate your confidence that I can do the job. -- SCZenz 18:47, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an admin now!!

[edit]

Hi, thanks to your support per Durin's nom and analysis, I'm an admin now. The final tally was 50-0-0 and I hope to live up to all your expectations. Thanks a ton, --Gurubrahma 11:51, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Although my RfA is not over yet, I figured that since so many people voted before it had been posted, I may as well start thanking people before it wraps up. It'll take me that long to thank everyone who voted anyway! Thank you, Xoloz, for your support and for your enthusiasm - I'll do my best as an admin to make the reality rise to the level of the dream. BD2412 T 17:25, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

And a thank you from Ann too

[edit]

Hi, Xoloz. I just want to thank you for voting to support me in my RfA. I know I'm very late thanking you, but I've been a bit caught up with college work. I hope I'll live up to the expectations of those who voted for me. Please let me know if you ever have a problem with any admin action that I carry out. Thanks again. Cheers. Early RFA thanks

[edit]

Hi Xoloz/archive3,

Thank you very much for your support on my RfA. It has done very well and is currently at 67/0/2. As such, I am posting this in advance of its closure. If I can ever help with anything or if you have any comments about my actions as an admin, please let me know. Thank you once again! – NSLE (T+C+CVU) 06:49, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've thought about adminship and I'm not interested at the moment, but thanks -- it's nice to know people appreciate what you're doing. Cheers, Christopher Parham (talk) 07:33, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

[edit]

Xoloz, thanks for your support on my RfA. You're right, December has been a bumper month for admins already and it's only the 8th (9th over here). The final count was 46/0/0. I hope I'll live up to your faith in me in my use of the mop and bucket. Please accept this wikithanks as a token of my gratitude ;) --bainer (talk) 23:12, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My failed RFA :)

[edit]

Dear Xoloz,

I would like to thank you for supporting me on my RfA. Even though it failed with a with the final tally of 55/22/6, I want to thank you anyways. I don't want to be one a admin anymore until I reach 10,000 edits now that it's over with. Thanks --Jaranda wat's sup 02:00, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Awolf002 RfA

[edit]

Thank you very much for your support! Your added question helped me to crystalize more clearly what my intentions are, and without that help the RfA most likely would have failed. I will do everything I can to justify your trust in me. Awolf002 03:01, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Luigi

[edit]

When it's a close call, I am obliged to consider more factors than the numbers alone. This can include reasons for opposing. Luigi's were largely due to amount of activity, while Aranda's were more substantive, citing grammar and issues with AFD and deletion discussions; based on these and similar observations, I made an informed decision. My own prior experience with both candidates is nil, if you're interested. Regards — Dan | talk 04:15, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Blue? Green?

[edit]

I faintly remembered you saying that you were a colour once, I just couldn't remember which one. This sort of thing seems to be being made important over at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Deeceevoice thinks are getting very ugly very fast. Any thoughts?
brenneman(t)(c) 06:24, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Xoloz:

As you may already be aware, my RFA was successful, and squeaked by with a final tally of 46/13/2. I would like to express my appreciation for your participation in my RFA, even though you voted oppose. I consider your stated reasons for opposing the vote to be thoughtful and well-spoken, and I will strive to conduct myself in such a manner that you will never regret the success of my RFA. → Ξxtreme Unction {yakłblah} 11:53, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

MfD on Aspects of evolution

[edit]

Please note that the only reason User:Ed Poor created the project was to avoid the consensus deletion of the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aspects of evolution article. --ScienceApologist 18:57, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My issue is that he did this explicitly to get around an AfD that didn't go his way. If he wants to have his own musings on his talkpage, that's one thing, but to wholesale copy an article that was AfDed and claim that it is now a "WikiProject" doesn't seem to fit the guidelines about what a Wikiproject is. --ScienceApologist 19:15, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What is more, the project page redirects from the previously deleted page Aspects of evolution. Is this acceptable practice for an editor? --ScienceApologist 19:18, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fish

[edit]

Hey, Xoloz, how's things? That is a weird hono(u)r indeed, but it's good to be appreciated. It is also an excellent name for a fish, and makes me think I should look around and see if we haven't got a free-use image of a splash, or a fish splashing or somesuch for my userpage. Treat the fish well, Splashtalk 19:01, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pathoschild's successful RfA

[edit]

Thanks a lot for your support on my request for adminship; it passed with 23/0/0 (plus one duplicate support and an oppose from a vandal IP). I'm surprised (and happy) to have gotten a support vote from someone with such high expectations of administrators. I'll do my best to exceed them. ^^ // Pathoschild 08:32, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for participating on my RfA

Thanks for participating in my RfA. The final vote was 57/4/3. I hope I don't disappoint those who voted support, and that those who didn't won't wish they'd campaigned more strongly in opposition. Tomertalk 03:20, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

[edit]

Hi Xoloz. Apologies: I went to bed minutes before you left your message on my talk page. You seem to have handled the situation, however. I can't usually see any reason for speedy keeping a debate unless the nomination was made in obvious bad-faith, which it wasn't here. -Splashtalk 13:26, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

[edit]

I understand your reluctance and won't try and convince you to change your vote. All I wanted to say was that I apologize if I ever caused you any grief in that whole ordeal and I've learned much from it. Thanks!Gator (talk) 19:44, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand which is why I thought long and hard about accepting a nomination. I've been through some tense situatons since then and think I've done OK (see Jesus talk page), but I totally understand if you think I need more time to prove myself. I apologize again. No hard feelings of course. :)Gator (talk) 20:02, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In the immortal words of Marvin Suggs:

[edit]

"Thank you, thank you, and gracias, thank you." Thank you for your very kind words. Encouragement like that can really spark a renewed interest in Wikipedia. Not that I really needed inspiration to edit... just sayin' is all. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me your message. I had been thinking about trying again for Admin in December, but think I may push it off to January or so. That at least puts more than 3 months since my last RfA. Somehow I feel trying again before then would be doing a disservice to Wikipedia. Thanks again for thinking of me. Sorry for gushing with gratitude as well; it has been a rough couple of weeks and your note means a lot. See you around. --LV (Dark Mark) 16:15, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Paris Streets

[edit]

Just thought I'd point out that the stated goal of this Wikiproject is for ALL Paris streets, even non-notable ones.Gateman1997 21:21, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, they can start with notable ones, and if they do dumb ones, those can be AfD'ed. Equally, anyone can edit project guidelines; that's no reason to kill the thing, when there are valid uses. Xoloz 21:24, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: All those MfDs

[edit]

Thanks for taking care of those. Despite having been around for three months already, I still have so much more to learn. I wasn't sure if that kind of thing could be speedied. Would you be able to speedy delete Template:Plumed Basilisk1, Template:Plumed Basilisk2, and Template:Pulmed Basilisk for me as well? I had listed them on WP:TfD just after the MfDs. Thanks again! ~MDD4696 (talkcontribs) 09:27, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Patience

[edit]

Patience does seem to be what is lacking, I think you're right. Anyway, since it's been Christmas, it seems I have missed the bulk of the party. I had to leave for home very shortly after redeleting, and would not have had the time to do anything even if I had noticed the restoration/recreation. It seems that AfD has its teeth into the issue — again — but on a far wider scale than it did before. Hopefully, that will produce consensus one way or the other, and settle the issue (for the time being, at least) rather than meander into a no consensus. Belatedly, I hope you and your close ones have had, and are having, a good Christmas. -Splashtalk 15:36, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks from Deathphoenix

[edit]

Hi Xoloz,

I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in my RfA. To tell you the truth, I was surprised by all the support I've gotten. I never saw myself as more than an occasional Wiki-hobbyist.

My wife sends her curses, as Wikipedia will likely suck up more of my time. She jokingly (I think) said she was tempted to log on to Wikipedia just to vote Oppose and let everyone know that she didn't want her husband to be an admin.

I'll make sure your trust in me is founded, especially after your cliché vote. Perhaps it helped that I had a similar name to an already existing admin. Now, let's start looking for Grimphoenix, Badphoenix, Zombiephoenix, or such similar names! --Deathphoenix 14:33, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sure Thing

[edit]

I'll give it a check, just do me one favor, remind me a whole lot that I am trustworthy. After today, I don't particularly trust myself all that much, but i'll do my best nonetheless. karmafist 07:21, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what the hell he's talking about with a different project. Brian's a bristly one, but that was probably over the line. The best thing to do since the rfa is going to fail is just ignore it and report it if it happens again, but I know how testy it can get in situations where people think good faith is in doubt. If you want to see real bad faith, just check Locke Cole's rfa today, POTW voted against even before it was on the rfa page. Hell, i'm fairly sure he voted against before Locke even accepted it. karmafist 07:30, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jerks

[edit]

Yep. I just wish there weren't so many. Oh well. At least they hate me! karmafist 07:32, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA vote

[edit]

If you provide other rationale, that is fine, but I don't agree with allowing obsolete votes to remain (and Blackcap's vote was obsolete, since the reason for his complaint had since been fixed). — 0918BRIAN • 2005-12-30 14:01

  • I apologize for misunderstanding your RFA vote. In the future, please do not state "as per X", so we can both avoid this confusion. — 0918BRIAN • 2005-12-30 16:22

Locke Cole

[edit]

Hey, if you thought the trolls hate me, Locke Cole may have it even worse! I strongly ask you to reconsider your vote for him, we definately need more people like him. karmafist 16:15, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem, removing an oppose is equal to gaining another support, and I think he's pretty close to breaking the threshold, despite attempts by POTW to disrupt things. karmafist 16:37, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your RFA support

[edit]
Hi Xoloz/archive3! I've just come back from a very refreshing wikibreak, so here is a belated thanks for your support in my successful RFA.
