I removed your insertion re Walter Rauschenbusch because 1) it was not cited and 2) it may be a criticism but it is not true. Rick Warren is not attempting to bring the earth in line with heaven, that's not his theological understanding or intent. He is saying that Christians need to be involved in the social needs of the poor and oppressed as well as their spiritual needs. It is both, not either or in his thinking.
