Update regarding copyright concern
[edit]Since we do not yet have verification of permission by the processes set out above and sufficient time has passed since the placement of the notice, the article has been deleted for copyright concerns. This deletion is not necessarily permanent. If you have already sent a letter to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) and GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (if you are not the copyright holder or have co-authored the material, release under CC-BY-SA-compatible license alone is sufficient), the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed by the Wikimedia Communications committee. Likewise, if you have not yet sent a letter, you still may (or resend it, if you believe your original may have been lost), and the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed. (I have done a system search of the e-mail queue and did not find a letter mentioning Lynchburg College Men's Club Soccer or lcclubsoccer.com.)
As Wikipedia does not require proof of identity on account creation, it is essential that we receive external proof of authorization in order to ensure that we remain compliant with US Copyright law. It is also essential that we verify that copyright holders understand the extent of the release they are authorizing, in that our licenses permit modification and reuse in any forum, even commercial publication, as long as authorship credit is maintained and future copies are compatibly licensed.
Please note that once permission is verified, the material may be evaluated and altered to meet Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Although we appreciate donations, we cannot guarantee that material donated will be retained.

Copyright problems with Dansearts
Hello. Concerning your contribution, Dansearts, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, Dansearts appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Dansearts has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Dansearts and send an email with the message to permissions-enwikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:Dansearts with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Dansearts.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. ThemFromSpace 01:48, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dansearts
[edit]A tag has been placed on Dansearts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Reply on Dansearts
[edit]Thanks for your message on my talk page. The issue can hopefully be solved fairly quickly. If you are the copyright holder of material on another website and you want to use that material in Wikipedia, there's a couple of steps that need to be followed. These can be found here.
Essentially, you can either:
- post a message on the other website using the words in the link above, or
- contact permissions-en@wikimedia.org, add the OTRS pending template to the article discussion page, and wait for someone to contact you.
Or you can entirely rewrite the material to avoid it appearing as a copyright problem, though this seems a lot of work if you're the person who wrote the current version in the first place.
Let me know if I can help further with any of these options. Unfortunately, absent any of them, the article will keep popping up as a copyright problem and will keep getting deleted. As you're the webmaster for the external site, I'd suggest the quickest and easiest option would be to post the permission notice there, but of course that's up to you. - Please also see our guidelines on editing with a conflict of interest if you have a close financial relationship with the article that you're editing. ThemFromSpace 02:26, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- A suggestion. Add something to the external pages using the exact words from the link I posted above. I notice you added a link to the Wikipedia page on Dansearts already - just put the explicit copyright permission sentence there as well. Once this is done I'll unlock the page so you can recreate the article.
- You only need to keep the wording on the external website long enough for an OTRS volunteer to respond to your email, which should be a couple of days.
- On a semi-related point, while the above should be sufficient to avoid the copyright issue you might need to do more work to ensure the article meets the notability guideline. But one problem at a time :) Euryalus (talk) 02:48, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- And sorry if this seems like a lot of bureaucracy - copyright issues just have to be dealt with according to fairly specific criteria. Euryalus (talk) 02:51, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Dansearts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wayne Riddock (talk) 15:53, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
