● The first leaders: Karel Bendl and Bedřich Smetana. ● In 1903 the building Hlahol Choral Society started to be built on the bank of the River Vltava in a quintessential Art Noveau style with wall paintings by Alfons Mucha. ● The choir cooperated prominent Czech orchestras, the radio and television during the 20th century. ● In 1957, the choir formed its own orchestra, but it later had to be dissolved after 1973 due to high financial costs. ● International cooperation developed extensively after the "Velvet Revolution" in 1989. ● At present there are 60 active members,average age 38. ● In 2001, Roman Z. Novák, became a choirmaster and enriched the repertoir by international pieces of music. ● Since 2006 the choir has had Klára Strnadová as the assistant choirmistress. ● Concerts are organised on regular basis in the Hlahol concert hall(such as advent singing, Christmas concerts), as well as in other concerts halls of Prague (e.g. Smetana Hall in the Municipal House) and churches in cooperation with the Art-n orchestra.
