Old Skool Esperanzial note
Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower háblame 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Shekhawati help
Did you find anything in your local library about Shekhawati? While I have been quietly waiting for you to help out, those other guys came and threw half-baked stuff back on the page. So I took it out. 69.232.202.229 03:57, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Besides the fact that farmers were treated the same way all over the country during the British Raj, I haven't been able to point out anything else. Have you thought about getting a username, so I can figure out who I'm talking to? Thanks for leaving a summary of what was originally on the article before you removed the bulk of it. --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 06:03, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- I am not against mentioning the plight of the farmers (even though I disagree that it was any worse than the plight of the farmers anywhere else in India). However, to make this the focus of the whole writeup is ass backwards. I mean, everyone today has heard about the Bhopal Disaster; and yet there are just 2 sentences in the Bhopal WiKi! Let's have some common sense here! I am from the region, and it hurts me to see it painted like this, especially when there is no solid evidence! I feel like I'm in some bizarro world here.
re Shekavati
I think I need some guidance of how to proceed.
This topic is degenerating into personal attacks by anonymous posters.
I also doubt you have unlimited time to devote to petty squabbling.
I do not wish to get involved into a bickering war, or delete and revert contests.
I do notice that my referenced material has been deleted.
I appreciate that you are not an historian, and that you are trying to help.
The background is a little more complex than a bunch of farmers fighting some landlords. That is what it is being positioned as, but that is not the case and I might come back when I have some time, and write an update.
My involvement has been to provide the references, to show that this is historical material, and not a hoax or a fraud.
I have done that.
I am new at the WIKI thing, I also do not know how to add correct citations, meta tags or anything like that, so any help would be appreciated.
And I certainly do not wish to get into a puerile war of words with anonymous posters.

- Hi Lbmixpro, I have produced the references in Shekhawati article from where it was taken without violating copyright policy. It appears that the user with ID 69.232.202.229 is passing time. He is indulged in personal attacks. I have now decided to take leave from Shekhawati article as I do not have time for such things. I believe in positive things. Kindly do the needful. Thanks burdak 08:52, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

I have left the article alone, and been trying to bring some calm into the discussion, not because material is lacking.
Expect more material.

I'm a little perplexed why you didn't ask to use it under a free license (GFDL/Creative Commons). Do you think you could message her again and ask? It would be a lot more useful than only a fair use acknowledgement.--Fallout boy 23:30, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
You recently deleted the above userboxes citing "Heavy potential to be disruptive," which indicates to me that there was no consensus to delete these templates. These templates are necessary to identify legitimate sockpuppets such as mine that serve legitimate purposes. I fail to see how they can be disruptive, and I urge you to restore the templates until a formal TfD discussion arrives at consensus to delete them. AmiDaniel (Talk) 00:09, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

semi-protection of John Cena
Ah ha! After a long search I finally found an Admin who works in WikiProject Professional wrestling. Ok it only took about 20 minutes of going down the member list...
Anyhow, there has been a discussion occuring both on User talk:Freakofnurture and Talk:John Cena regarding re-protecting the article from anon editors. If possible, I'd like you to take a look at both conversations to review the various reasonings, specifically the one at the top of Freak's talk page, and then chime in accordingly. Thank you! --Naha|(talk) 01:04, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello again. I see that you are still an active contributer to the encyclopedia. And you are possibly busy and I don't mean to bother you, but if you have no plans of helping with this situation, please say so, and I will attempt to seek out another admin to help who is familiar with pro wrestling. Thanks again, --Naha|(talk) 12:32, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
My apologies. I just saw the notice on your user page that you would be slow in responding on this sort of thing right now. Take care of yourself - I've been there. --Naha|(talk) 01:00, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

What did you do to my page? Something about a userbox?

Thanks for reverting my userpage. Strangely enough, him calling me a "democrat" wouldn't offend me since there's no "Democratic Party" here in Canada, hence his act of vandalism utterly failed to faze me. Hehe. :) --→Buch-Hermit™..smack 03:00, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Is this Emico?
I don't want to start another war here, but this user came and added information much like the Emico puppet did a few months ago about the INC having "orderly" worship services and the like.[1]--Ironbrew 07:36, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- I think he's back because after I reverted his edit, the exact same information was posted under an anonymous IP. Only Emico forces through edits like this.--Ironbrew 03:15, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- This guy's beginning to ignore our suggestions and push through his edits. His attitude and demeanor, as well as his knowledge of using talk pages for a supposedly "new user" as he claims arouses suspicion, but in fairness, his edit was not so far off NPOV, and all I asked him for was a source, but he insists on having his way.--Ironbrew 01:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey there
Hey Lbmix, good to see ya here. Thanks for helping out with the YTMND wiki so much. We've still got work, but I think it really looks nice, no? Hopefully it can and will be integrated into the YTMND interface someday soon. Let's hope it won't stay looking fugly. -Mysekurity [m!] 02:46, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Beth Phoenix
Just to let you know I moved her page back because you spelled Phoenix wrong. I would have moved it to the proper spelling but I couldn't. Also, Elizabeth Carolan is her real name. --JFred 23:21, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Debate
Hi, I know a while back you said to comment on your talk page if I needed any help. I'm in a bit of a debate with somebody over the inclusion of something in a wiki page.
To summarize, the article is The Pretender and the thing in debate is the inclusion of Ferdinand Waldo Demara. I initially thought at first this person was relevant to the television series because like the main character (Jared) he learns things quickly by reading and has imitated other people. Upon getting into this discussion (all of which can be found here on the talk page under Demara discussion) I have found at least two credible sources stating the article, before his edits, were correct. (Source 1 and Source 2) Countless others pop up when doing an internet search but are not as source worthy.
I'm not getting into an argument just to be right, but because this article does need to be worked on as it has some major problem (NPOV, weasel words). I don't want to start working on this and get into an argument with him over every little change, so I thought I would ask for assistance or advice now while debating this little change since he seems so adamant about this. --ImmortalGoddezz 22:37, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Christina Aguilera
Okay, I didn't realise that you had written it, so I'd just like to say I think it is a very good article! It's a lot better than many others about contemporary pop musicians, well done! About Maddyfan: maybe we could leave a comment at WP:RFCU asking somebody to confirm if she has been editing/reverting under the IP address 68.46.186.126, as well as if she created the Xtinamoline username. I don't know...I'd like it if the article was unprotected again and I know protected pages can be harmful, but I know it's also likely that Maddyfan will just go on another reverting spree without discussing her edits calmly and we'll be back to square one again. I hope that we don't have to file an RfC on her behaviour either, but it seems to be the next logical step if she doesn't stop ignoring what other editors are telling her. Extraordinary Machine 18:22, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I just wanted to comment that those other people are not me. Maddyfan 19:47, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

- Hey, I've just been informed that the dispute at the Aguilera article is mentioned in The New York Times! See "Growing Wikipedia Revises Its 'Anyone Can Edit' Policy". It ran on the front page, I believe, and it's also currently the most emailed story. They've even linked directly to the article's talk page. Extraordinary Machine 22:46, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Shekhawati
I have deleted material from the Shekhawati page which is uncorraborated. If you have a question about it, please let me know on my talk page. As you can tell by my name, this dispute is about my clan, my family name. I will not let a group of punks mess around with it. I know my family history well; these guys don't. It is a well-established fact (do a Google search, you'll see) that the region is named after my family. Now these punks have come up with some obscure, unverifiable "citation" from some obscure, unauthenticated book which claims otherwise. It is upto _THEM_ to show that it is true and deserves a place on Wikipedia. Just claiming that it occurs in print somewhere is not enough. AShekhawat 18:37, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
This arbitration case is closed and the decision has been published at the link above.

A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Semi-protection for Iglesia ni Cristo article?
I think the new Semi-protection (accounts 96 hours old or older) for the Iglesia ni Cristo article would be perfect to stop the anonymous IP and sockpuppet accounts from editing the article. A rash of Emico-like edits have popped up recently. I have been arguing with him on a Network 54 forum, which might explain why he has returned.--Ironbrew 06:12, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: Congratulations
Thanks, and thanks for the link as well. I've just read it and found it really helpful, though I'm wondering why the "inactive/historical interest" tag is there. I read a few of the other admin-related pages when I first found out I had been nominated, but I didn't really take any of it in, so it's nice to have a "nutshell". :) I've said this elsewhere but I just can't stress this enough: I really hope I don't break something... :S Extraordinary Machine 00:02, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
