Proposed deletion of Obama’s Speech in Cairo
[edit]The article Obama’s Speech in Cairo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- On a fundamental level, this article is a major violation of WP:NOT#ESSAY. This policy says "please do not use Wikipedia for any of the following", which includes "Personal essays that state your particular feelings about a topic". This article clearly is a personal reflection on Obama's speech, and there is nothing to salvage from here to turn into an article that reflects "the consensus of experts". WP:NOT#ESSAY is a part of WP:NOT, and according to WP:DEL#REASON anything under WP:NOT is a reason for deletion.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Otumba (talk) 04:51, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
