- No more so than the many maintenance templates that clutter articles. I'm inclined to feel it's not necessary, but I don't think it's a candidate for speedy deletion. Sorry. An optimist on the run! 08:15, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Deletion of Sahi Software
Hi Optimist, A page on Sahi_Software was deleted a few days back. It was marked as a dead OS project. Sahi is a very alive project and a fairly popular tool for web application testing. Would you please undelete the page? Or let me know if I can do anything to convince you? Thanks, Narayan Narayan Raman (talk) 05:48, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Category:Robot
Hi
Can you tell me why the category was deleted please? I cannot find any deletion discussion, though I am sure there would probably have been one ;¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 03:36, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- It was created by Danim (talk · contribs) on 30 October last year, and tagged it for deletion as {{db-self}} (WP:CSD#G7) a few days later. You can recreate it if you feel it's necessary, but it's probably redundant to category:robots. See deletion log. An optimist on the run! 05:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks for the Barnstar. I've actually been a bit lazy this last month, but I have been fairly keen over the last year to get some content into the Staffordshire, Shropshire and West Midlands entries - particularly for the more interesting settlements with long histories and ecclesiastical importance. So I have spent quite a bit of time on Penkridge, Brewood, Badger, St Peter's (Wolverhampton), etc. Hoping to do something for Tettenhall, Claverley, some aspects of Stafford, perhaps Gnossall, soon. Thanks again. Sjwells53 (talk) 10:08, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Alt account permissions
Hi Optimist, I was looking at various account permissions (here) and noticed you'd granted all but sysop rights to your non-secure account Pek the Penguin. Are all these necessary? In particular, (IPBE + account creator) and edit filter manager seem problematic, as Pek the Penguin seems by definition to be for use when you can't be sure your password won't be sniffed. Could you think about removing account creator and edit filter manager? Regards! Franamax (talk) 21:49, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed. I rarely use account creator and edit filter on my main account, let alone Pek, so I’ve removed these. I added IPBE as it’s more likely I’ll be using Pek from an unsecured network, e.g. hotel wifi etc, which is more likely to already be IP blocked. The notice on User:Pek the Penguin is there to make sure the account is blocked if it is compromised, so even if it is used to circumvent an IP block, it shouldn’t do much damage. Article Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari
Hello Optimist on the run, this editor User:JAGADBANDHU has moved it's own user and talk page to article Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari. This is fairly a new account created over 2 weeks back. The article fails Wikipedia:Notability (people), also has no sources and references and there seems to be a possible Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I therefore request you to take appropriate action as soon as possible. Thank you. TheGeneralUser (talk) 13:52, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
I had already tagged the article for speedy deletion before. It has been deleted now :). TheGeneralUser (talk) 13:56, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ok. I don't think there's a case for taking action against the user at this stage. An optimist on the run! 15:51, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't asking for any action against the user, i was actually requesting for the page to be speedily deleted. The matter has been solved. TheGeneralUser (talk) 09:52, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Mark Ivan Morales
Under John Zungaroo Campbell there is a link to Mark Morales, great grandson of John. The link then takes you to the WRONG Mark Morales.
The correct entity is: Mark Ivan Morales who appeared in numerous Broadway shows including "SUNSET BOULEVARD" <ref The Really Useful Company> with Glenn Close with cast album of the same, and "CATS" <ref The Really Useful Company>. Mr. Morales also worked with the great Leonard Bernstein and Jerome Robbins in the 1980 revival of "West Side Story" at the Minskoff Theater - also on Broadway. Movie credits include, "In The Line of Fire, Deadly Revenge", and "Crackers" <ref IMDb>. Television credits include recurring roles in "As The World Turns" and "One Life To Live", "Divorce Court", and "Cop Rock".
Please make the proper correction so the link from John Zungaroo Campbell reads Mark Ivan Morales and the corrected link takes you to the above.
Thanks so much for your time! Mark Ivan Morales — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marcomarcoco (talk • contribs) 15:06, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

chaser brand deletion
hi,
I created the page Chaser Brand which was just deleted by you, as was my user account. I did not intend it to be an advertisement, I was intending it to be an information page on the company, a la "apple store" or "the gap". I guess I published too soon? I literally cut and paste the bio from our web site and was writing our history and other sections when I received the email saying it was deleted. I do not want to upset the wiki-mojo Gods in anyway, so how do I get in your good graces so that I can publish an information page on our company?
thanks for your time and apologies.

Abuse Filter on the Article Feedback Tool
Hey there :). You're being contacted because you're an edit filter manager, At the moment, we're developing Version 5 of the Article Feedback Tool, which you may or may not have heard about. If you haven't; for the first time, this will involve a free-text box where readers can submit comments :). Obviously, there's going to be junk, and we want to minimise that junk. To do so, we're working the Abuse Filter into the tool.
For this to work, we need people to write and maintain filters. I'd be very grateful if you could take a look at the discussion here and the attached docs, and comment and contribute! Thanks :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 18:27, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Corris Railway - closeness to Talyllyn and Cadair Idris cf Talyllyn Railway
As the crow flies, Corris Station is nearer to Pen-y-Gadair (the peak of Cadair Idris) than Abergynolwyn Station is, and also to the nearest point of Talyllyn Lake. The only part of these attractions that is closer to Abergynolwyn than Corris is the Pen-y-Bont Hotel at the south-west end of the Lake. RGCorris (talk) 16:37, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- You may well be right, I haven't measured it. Please note it wasn't me who claimed the TR was closer - I simply fixed the grammar. An optimist on the run! 17:13, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Template:Japanese era
Some years back, you were the last person to successfully adjust the list of eras here, and my recent attempt to make what seemed a simple change resulted in pain from naivete. Would you be able and willing to take a peek and apply some clue to my head? The changes that I made (visible in history) throw an expression error when transcluded indirectly from 1577. The error was something like an operand error, and mentioned "年", which I presume is coming through via Template:Year in other calendars/Japanese. I had assumed that the last table was just a fixup converting article names into display names, but ... is there somewhere else that needs a change at the same time? Did I blow a white space issue? Enquiring minds wanna know. :) --joe deckertalk to me 21:20, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- I don't see any immediate reason why it shouldn't work - what faults is it giving? If you can't fix it, I suggest trying the Village Pump for advice. An optimist on the run! 21:33, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you kindly for the check. I just figured it out, I didn't need to know I needed a corresponding change at Template:Nengo. *Forehead* Ah well. Have a great week! --joe deckertalk to me 23:53, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Question about sosick.org
I am doing some research about SARS and found a reference to Wikipedia page about sosick.org. It seems you deleted the page. I am not a wikipedian & do not know the process for this action, nor am I here to criticize.
I wonder how I can learn the reason for the socick.org page's deletion, could you point me in the right direction?
Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.75.62.40 (talk) 05:06, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- It was deleted as it consisted solely of the line "this is a page which updated the residents in hong kong what was happening. It is a very informative website which was very informative", and was therefore tagged for speedy deletion under criteria A7, as it did not indicate how the subject was important. Frank Natale's page
Your own body is a constantly evolving dance...
The article that was posted was a summary/biography of Frank Natale who was a well documented visionnary and great contributor to this world... with cited sources and referals to several sites talking about him including the Franknatale.com website... I had discussed directly with him about creating a wikipedia page... Now that he has passed away, Please re-instate, and contribute rather than eliminate important history...
Thanks in advance,
I wish you a life full of Dance and dances full of Life...

Deleted article "Persian Toon"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Toon says that you deleted the article. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Persian-Toon/284428284967846 with 1,400 likes refers to this article. Myth of Soma MMO page deletion.
You pushed this article for deletion and the article was deleted. Myth of Soma is an MMO which now only exists in China as the EU/NA counterpart has ceased to exist. As far as I know this is still suitable grounds for an article, especially for an MMO which has circulated the internet for around 10 years. For the EU/NA counterpart only fansites still exist, and those are few and far between.
Finally, you stated the page felt more like an 'advertisement'. While I can appreciate how you yourself feel it sounds, this was not the case. It was written purely from memory and personal experience, which most of the MMO articles on Wikipedia are - and even those may be seen as purely advertising also. I suggest reverting of the articles deletion.
As for 'could not find suitable information' (apologies if this is not your exact quote on the deletion page) I refer you to:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?sugexp=chrome,mod=14&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=Myth+of+Soma http://web.archive.org/web/20040707082129/http://www.mythofsoma.net/
And there are many more resources for information. I'd also like to point you to the articles at Game Network and Legend of Mir which are pages which are linked to the Myth of Soma page - Game Network being the publisher and Legend of Mir being another game published alongside it, both games featured a weekly television show with hosts during the games lifespan.
And my final note, just because you don't know about/have played/haven't watched something, does not mean it does not necessarily exist or warrant an article. Sephz0r (talk) 22:30, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- I've restored Myth of Soma as a Contested Prod. However, the notability is still doubtful, and it may still go to AFD. Please note that I did not "push this article" for deletion; it was nominated by User:MuZemike. I deleted the article as the PROD had remained uncontested for seven days. - Please do not recreate the article with the same content, otherwise it will only be deleted again, and repeated attempts to restore the article may lead to sanctions being taken against your account. As explained on your talk page, the reason for its deletion is that it was the biography of a living person without any reliable sources. See Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people for further information. If you can find some reliable sources (which must be independent of the subject), you are welcome to try writing a new article on the subject. You may find the article wizard a better way of creating your article. An optimist on the run! 16:25, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
