Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Pass It Around (Smokie album) with this edit. Hi. When you recently edited The Montreux Album, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Austrian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks for uploading File:Wishbone Ash - Just Testing.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Non-free rationale for File:Marillion - Radiation (1998) Front Cover.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Marillion - Radiation (1998) Front Cover.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hello, and welcome. Your addition to Tarkus has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to visit me at my talk page. Thank you. Two Hearted River (paddle / fish) 15:37, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Your addition to Just Testing has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Two Hearted River (paddle / fish) 15:51, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please use WP:MOVE to change page titles. If the existence of a page at the new title makes it impossible for you to move the page, you must not use cut and paste instead of moving. The correct action is to ask for administrator help, for example by tagging the page at the wanted title with {{db-move}} or by proposing the move at WP:RM. Anyway, I have now moved Changing All The Time to Changing All the Time, which should be the right title per WP:CAPS. Your cut and paste edit has been deleted (instead of the page containing history as you had requested; that would have been a violation of the copyright of Wikipedia's contributors). —Kusma (t·c) 11:57, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The Scream (album) jpg: bad quality picture uploaded

[edit]

You have recently uploaded a bad photoshopped color version of the sleeve of that album at [File:Siouxsie & the Banshees-The Scream.jpg]. Look at the difference between your recent low quality version [1] and the original artwork.[2]. The black CineMascope stripes must be entirely black whereas your version contained bad blue brush in those borders and a lot of pixels in the main picture which looked like digitalized when zooming in. So please, do not upload any other low quality pictures on Siouxsie and the Banshees related articles and let the sleeves on those articles as they are. Join Hands jpg: this time, a bad framing picture uploaded

[edit]

Are you kidding ? You have uploaded a bad framing sleeve which doesn't respect the initial artwork. Spot the difference between your bad version[3] and the original artwork[4] ! I'm gonna have to contact an administrator for a mediation with you and ask you to stay away from the Siouxise and the Banshees related articles. My patience is stretched. --Carliertwo (talk) 22:06, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Face to Face (Barclay James Harvest album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article fails WP:GNG because we have allmusic as reliable, the band website being unreliable, and 2 chart websites which don't count as in depth coverage.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I've added Ring of Changes as well. Sikonmina (talk) 06:42, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
