Can you please block this user indefinitely? They have been vandalizing Wikipedia consistently for months. Thanks. Matt Gerber (talk) 17:28, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Sir is a title
Hello,
Looking at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people) it seems to me that titles shouldn't be in the name. I removed the title from the article on Sir James Outram, 1st Baronet for this reason. But this has now been moved back, I think that it should be removed - I wasn't sure if I should move it back.
Having just checked the articles move log it seems that you had also moved this too before it was reverted. What do you think? Pahari Sahib 20:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- It seems that the British peers are an exception to the conventions per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles) -- somebody pointed that out to me, when I moved another such article. Since James Outram is a disambiguation page, the article should be located at Sir James Outram, 1st Baronet according to these conventions. Seems weird to me (I'd go with something like James Outram (British General)), but the British have their own conventions. utcursch | talk 04:07, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ah well, conventions are conventions I supposed, thanks for pointing that out. Regards Pahari Sahib 20:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Mass scale vandalism by user Mightyunit
Respected Sir, since you are an administrator, hence I would like to bring to your kind notice that user Mightyunit is doing mass scale vandalism in Kanwar Pal Singh Gill and Navneet Singh Khadian articles.
He has edited [[Kanwar Pal Singh Gill article four times during last few hours already. He has deleted several NPOV references and information so far. Please see 1, 2, 3 and he has deleted information and references from 4 - Amnesty International and HRW as well. His vandalism on this article is going on from last days[1][2]
Regarding Navneet Singh Khadian, he has deleted NPOV references and information several times and I am struggling hard to save this article from his vandalism. Please see 1, 2 and 3. I strongly beleive that he is deleting information to influence wikipedia members views onAfD.
On top of it, user Mightyunit has also deleted vandalism warnings from his own talk page today. This is gross violation of his editing rights.
Kindly Help.Singh6 (talk) 05:46, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
User Mightyunit has just created his account on May 1st 2008 at 6:53 when I am involved in tense discussion on IHRO with 202.54.176.51 and he has started doing mass changes into human rights related sentences in those articles which became the reason of [IHRO's tense discussion]. This discussion is still in progress. Would you be able to check if these mass changes have suddenly started happening from the same IP address, i.e. 202.54.176.51 . Hello Sir, it appears that User talk:Mightyunit is fradulently trying to influence Wikipedia user views on related AfD by continuously deleting information and references from article Navneet Singh Khadian. He doesnt listen, he doesnt talk, he doesnt argue. Would you let respected Wikipedia community becomming fool on related AfD because User talk:Mightyunit is not letting them read the complete article during the AfD process? ... with hope ...Singh6 (talk) 06:41, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Like I said earlier, this is a content dispute. Please see Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. utcursch | talk 10:03, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Respected Mr. Administrator, this was not a content dispute between a genuine wikipedia user (me) and a suddenly popped up new wikipedia User:Mightyunit. His real face has been exposed afterwards, Wikipedia has tracked him down and he has been blocked indifinitely, see User:Mightyunit. But it appears that, by his vandalism, he was able to acheive what he desired and 'was able to influence AfD on Navneet Singh Khadian. This article was deleted because of a margin of "One" vote only.Singh6 (talk) 14:41, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
New Project
Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.
If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 07:02, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, we need an original photo if we want it to be displayed alngside original facts. As there is none we cannot put an imaginary photo for the sake of it. there are thousands of such imaginary photos, it is misleading as the reader thinks he looked like that which he did not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Turniplp (talk • contribs) 05:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

So, here goes. :) I have continued to be an editor here, although I took an year's break in between. Thanks again for that welcome, and cheers! Prashanthns (talk) 13:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Katrina Kaif Article
Katrina Kaif is getting tons of vandalism, and it appears to be originating from the same sources. Could we PLEASE semi-protect thet article for a few weeks? Achitnis (talk) 15:36, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll have a look at it. You can always request protection at WP:RfPP -- the action will be faster, since many admins keep a watch on that page. utcursch | talk 15:52, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Been there, done that in the past. No joy - looks like it wasn't taken seriously enough to warrant action. But maintaining that article is becoming a pain, and many editors have just given up, hence the direct request. Thanks for protecting the article for now, lets hope that the hormone charged anons give it a rest for now. Achitnis (talk) 08:54, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Have requested semi-protection again [5]. If this can't be done, am giving up on this article. Achitnis (talk) 06:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism of senstive religious articles by User talk:90.192.59.97
Respected Administrator,
User talk:90.192.59.97 is specifically targetting Sikhism related articles with distorted and totally unacceptable information.
- 1.Here, User talk:90.192.59.97 has distorted the information about defenders of Sikhism (Sikh religious warriors), i.e. Nihangs. He has tried to make fun of Sikhs by replacing Nihang religious clothing colour, i.e. electric blue with a musical artile, i.e.Grease Lightning
- 2. Here, User talk:90.192.59.97 has removed {Original research|date=June 2008}{POV|date=June 2008} from the top of the article without even notifying any wikipedia administrator.
- 3. Here, User talk:90.192.59.97 is again distorting the main principles of Sikhism. He has removed word "extramarital" and he has modified the text to make it appear anti-muslim. For origional Sikh Principles and prohibtions, Please see official information from Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
- 4. Here, User talk:90.192.59.97 is distorting the main principles of Sikhism.
- 5. Here, User talk:90.192.59.97 has attacked the very basic Sikh principle of "Non-Smoking" by adding a sentence that Nihangs smoke. For origional Sikh Principles and prohibtions, Please see information from Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee[3].
- 6. Here and Here, User talk:90.192.59.97 has again tried to make fun of Sikh religious warriors by entering Nihang's turbans colour as a indian sweet ladoo.
- 7. Here, ................ has again distorted the Prohibitions in Sikhism by distorting Sikh principles. For origional Sikh Principles and prohibtions, Please see information from Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
His edits/vandalism will encourage/force Sikhs and other non-Hindus to vandalize Hinduism related articles on wikipedia. Also, Keeping the senstivity of religious information, please stop him from distorting/vandalizing senstive religious articles.Singh6 (talk) 14:32, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello - request
Hello dear Utcursch!! Long time...
I have a little request:
One editor back in time moved the Gulzar article (the lyricist) to Gulzar (lyricist), and turned the redirect page into a disambiguation. As I saw this now, I think the lyrcist Gulzar saab is the most notable person with this name, especially considering the fact that most of the Wikipedia articles that link to Gulzar, refer to the Indian lyricist.
As a result of this, I have now created Gulzar (disambiguation), placed there the text the editor had inserted previously in Gulzar, and now, Gulzar is a redirect of Gulzar (lyricist).
As both these pages are free now, could you please move Gulzar (lyricist) to Gulzar back, and the article will use the {{otheruses2}} template - referring the readers to the disambiguation page?
Thanks, regards, Shahid • Talk2me 13:52, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you, Utcursch! Hope you're doing well! Shahid • Talk2me 16:33, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

i-post
Email to Postal Mail
A convenient free postal mail service which can deliver email messages all over Pakistan. Peoples can now use their email to send letters giving you another route to communicate with others who are not connected to the Internet in Pakistan.
In recent past Internet and e-mail have revolutionized the world of communications. But those who do not have easy access to Internet and e-mail facilities could not get benefits of this facility. In its endeavour to make the benefits of e-mail available to a common man, Al Tayyeb Group has introduced i-post service. By i-post all those who do not have computer or do not have access to Internet can send e-mail by Post Office or receive e-mail through a postman. Those who have access to Internet can also send i-post to those who do not have access to Internet.
Wikipedia should have an article on this social service & must be a part of WikiProject Pakistan. Please comments. --SaqibChaudhry (talk) 09:24, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
